Background

Although the Cereans are known for their peaceful lifestyle and their preference to remain on their home world of Cerea rather than the glamour and technology of the wider galaxy, Metharom had little choice in the matter. Abducted as a young adult by slavers prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Metharom was purchased as a slave to serve the Hutts on Nal Hutta. Very quickly, his masters found about his talent in Shyarn-Ado, a style of Cerean fencing, and he was transferred from being a house servant to a gladiator.
After spending the better part of two decades in the fighting pit, Metharom finally purchased his own freedom. By then, the Clone Wars were over, the Republic had given way to the Empire, so the Cerean decided to wander the galaxy instead of returning to Cerea, serving as a sellsword, mercenary, and bodyguard.
Every since being liberated, Metharom prefers to rely on his blades as a last resort, instead of the only resort he had as a gladiator, prefering instead to rely on diplomacy and negotiation.

Motivation

Ambition - Enlightenment: Now in the wider galaxy, Metharom has little needs and fewer true responsibilities, so he has set out to try and find what he considers a 'better understanding' or a meaning to life.

Morality

Emotional Strength - Compassion: A long, hard life of slavery has led Metharom to sympathize with the plights of the less fortunate, especially in the Outer Rim, where slavery and lawlessness is common.

Emotional Weakness - Hatred: This same sympathy with the oppressed also, at times, drives Metharom to hate those that would cause such suffering, and he must constantly fight to give into his hatred.

Obligation - Notoriety (5): After surviving for years in the gladiatorial arenas of the Hutts, from Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa to across the Outer Rim, Metharom gained the reputation of a master swordsman. Every since freeing himself, opportunistic and glory-seeking bounty hunters, mercenaries and thugs have often tracked down and sought him down to test their mettle or try to claim his 'crown'.

Description

Although not particularly old by human terms, Metharom is cursed with the fact that Cerean males age physically faster than other species. In a battle long past, Metharom lost his left eye in a match, and wears an eyepatch.

Metharom prefers to wear weathered but sturdy clothing. Carrying only as much as he needs with him as necessary, of particular note is the antique Cerean shyarn Metharom carries with him, a remnant of his days as a gladiator and a link to his home on Cerea.
