Background
Twenty years ago, Spiral was a young child traveling with his parents on a resort space yacht when it was beset by Weequay pirates. By sheer numbers, the ship’s security force was overwhelmed. Passengers and crew alike were relieved of credits and valuables. It would have ended there, if not for the careful eye of the Weequay pirate captain. He recognized that Spiral, a young and beautiful Zeltron boy, would fetch an incredible price to the right buyer. That was the last day that Spiral saw his family.
After being sold to a wealthy crime mistress on Corellia, Spiral was, surprisingly, raised with care and devotion as close to a royal upbringing as one could imagine in the underworld of the Blue Sector. Spiral had an affinity with people and music and his mistress nurtured these abilities. He was given many musical instruments to learn but the 8-string Zabrak Quetarra was the one that he played with an innate mastery. At a young age, his skills with the instrument became well known even among the Zabraks. His performances were used by the mistress to entertain her many guests before “business” meetings. His final performance for his mistress was right before a meeting-turned-coup where her right hand man betrayed her to her rival. Following the bloodbath, Spiral was once again alone, in the ruins of his second life.
Spiral salvaged all the credits and jewelry he could find and took to the streets of Treasure Ship Row where he learned to survive using his wits, charm and innate talents. It wasn’t long before talk of the exotic and beautiful Zeltron who wielded the Quetarra like a godly artifact began to spread among the cantinas in the Blue Sector. Under the moniker Aeau the Beau, Spiral began playing cantinas all along The Row amassing a substantial following.
The notoriety and fame led to exclusive appearances and performances in many high-brow functions including one extravagant party at the Corona House, the abode of the chief executive of Corellia, Diktat Daclif Gallamby. Diktat was hosting the engagement party of an Imperial Moff and his bride, a very beautiful heiress of a shipping conglomerate. A fateful night and catalyst of mayhem to come...
Motivation
• Fame
Spiral seeks the limelight and wants to be famous. He wants his deeds, actions and music to make the HoloNet for all to see and revels in the attention given by fans and supporters. Though he has troubles with the Imperials from his past, out here in the Outer Rim, he has reasoned that his best defense is to hide-in-plain-sight and become the most famous entertainer in the galaxy.
Obligations
• Philanderer (Imperial Moff) - Magnitude 10
Spiral bedded an enamored fan after one of his performances on Corellia. As fate would have it, the young lady was the promised bride of an Imperial Moff who had decided to go slumming in search of a musician that she had seen perform at her engagement party. She found him at Mynock’s Haven on the Treasure Ship Row fulfilling is two night contract with the cantina.
The encounter should have been discreet but during a heated argument, the young lady, hoping to shatter her soon-to-be-husband’s fragile ego, recounted her lustful tryst with the exotic and extremely capable Zeltron. Incensed, the Imperial Moff sent stormtroopers tearing through The Row one cantina after another in search of Spiral. With a warning from one of the dancers at Bovo’s, Spiral managed to stay one step ahead and escaped to The Pit where he hid within the shanty city among the tinkers and scrappers. With the landing bays locked down and his face plastered across the Imperial wanted list, Spiral had to lay low for weeks as he arranged to be smuggled off planet.
• Favor (Rebel Alliance) - 10
Being wanted for having shamed an Imperial Moff was one thing but disgracing the honored guest of the chief Executive of Corellia also did not make matters any better. Spiral, after weeks of laying low waiting for an opportunity, could not find a way off planet. His likeness was plastered everywhere and the Imperial Moff made it very clear that the one who located Spiral would be very well compensated.
It was only a short matter of time before Spiral was inevitably found though who found him was quite unexpected. Though it was never revealed publicly why Spiral was a fugitive, the urgency of the demand from the Imperial Moff made Spiral a high-value target...and a high-value target to the Imperials is a high-value target to the Rebel Alliance. Spiral was apprehended by a Rebel agent posing as a smuggler willing to extricate him off the planet. He was taken off planet alright, straight into the interrogation rooms of the Rebel Alliance cell compound on Denon. For over a month, Spiral was pampered and questioned then starved and interrogated. When it was finally clear that Spiral possessed no Imperial secrets and that his absurd story about a fling with an Imperial Moff’s bride-to-be was the cause of all this commotion, the Rebels cut a deal with Spiral and promised to release him as a free man with the condition that he act as the Rebel’s eyes and ears in the cantinas. As if being wanted by the Imperials wasn’t enough, now he was being forced to play watchdog for the Rebels.
Description
Spiral is a strikingly beautiful Zeltron, even by Zeltron standards. He possesses pale pink skin and long blue hair sometimes secured by a bandana. He has a diagonal scar across his left eye from a fight as a teenager on the streets of Treasure Ship Row. He also has a unique birthmark on his back below his right shoulder in the shape of a spiral which gives him his namesake.
