Description

Background

To bring Justice to the Unjust.

1) How did you discover your force sensitivity?
Several months ago, Skourge took a bounty which seemed too good to be true; nearly a fortune for bringing in one woman. As he hunted her it became clear she was no ordinary quarry. Other hunters found her before he did, and were always left behind, slain with excessive violence. The worlds he trailed her to were sites of chaos as she seemed to revel in taking whatever she wanted and killing whoever she wanted. He learned some of the lore of the force, scraps and legends. When he found her he felt prepared, but was gravely mistaken. She beat him back and toyed with him, drawing out the kill striking to inflict pain rather than injury. However, as the battle progressed Skourge felt a power within him: her movements seemed to become clumsier, more predictable, his strikes, sure and true, his strength, the strength of a dozen. Eventually battered and beaten, he was able to overpower her and knock her unconscious. As soon as the battle ended the feeling left him, leaving just a sliver behind. He took her weapon and returned her for the bounty, so she could face justice for her many crimes. Since then Skourge wandered thinking of this new feeling and trying to reconnect with it; not just seeking the power it gave him, but the peace and serenity he had felt.

2) Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.
In his early days as a simple enforcer for the Hutts on Kintan, Skourge joined a plot to overthrow their Hutt lord, who was viscous and cruel beyond even other Hutts. The plot was a success; however it was shortlived as the rest of the Hutts took this as a direct challenge and began reprisals upon the entire population of thier regions. Many were killed because of their actions, and even worse cruelties than before were perpetrated upon their people. The conspirators and everyone they knew had to flee the planet, many did not make it as it is difficult to evade the Hutts while in Hutt space. On reaching the outer rim, he took work as a bounty hunter. He found some of the bounties allowed him he opportunity to deal with the ilk of the galaxy and help others escape from oppression, doing some good to try to alleviate the sense of loss and failure.

3) How did you come to join the NJO?
In his search to discover the force on his own, Skourge hit a wall with his abilities, becoming unable to do more despite weeks of practice. He decided he needed a teacher. After seeking and finding numerous charlatans claiming mystic power, he came across a rumor with a ring of truth to it. On arriving at the academy, the masters seemed remarkably unsurprised he had come and offered to help him without seeming to have any sort of agenda.

4) Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival.
When traveling back with the rogue force user, the trip took nearly two weeks and in this time they spoke of the force. Despite being distrustful of her, Skourge was eager to learn about this new power he had experienced. While he was unable to learn much about this woman more than that she called herself Ejenay, this was his first introduction to the lore of the force beyond the stories and legends that scatter the galaxy. Perhaps more disturbing for Skourge was how many things they had in common. After a short trial she was convicted to the worst punishment the world had to offer, she was blinded and imprisioned in a converted mine shaft deep below the surface, to be kept isolated for the rest of her days. With what he knows of the force he suspected their meeting was no chance and that perhaps it is fated to happen again.

Motivation

Circumstances lead to Skourge having to flee his homeworld of Kintan to the worlds beyond Hutt space. Being identified as a collaborator in the murder of a Hutt Lord could bring dire consequences down upon himself and anyone associated with him. 15 years seems like a long time to many, but the Hutts have long and vengeful memories. Strength: Justice
There are so many crimes in the Galaxy and their perpetrators must be held to account. The character strives for just and deliberate actions in his life, and in his interactions with others. He attempts to make the objectively right choice every time, knowing that justice is more likely to guarantee positive outcomes than sympathy or other emotional displays.

Weakness: Cruelty
All too often, the cruel use justice to excuse their actions. If one stops himself from tempering justice with empathy and understanding, he can inflict great harm on others and feel justified doing it. Eventually, he can grow to revel in the suffering of others, even as he deludes himself into thinking he makes the "just" choice.
