Background
Ansem is not a typical smuggler. If anything, he could be described more as a pickpocket who happens to smuggle on the side. In the underworld, he's known for being an incredibly untrustworthy, if also extremely effective, individual who will run off with your cargo just as often as he'll take it to its destination. Despite this unpredictability, however, he's still somewhat sought-after, as some are willing to take the gamble that Ansem entails.
In his past, Ansem was a street urchin, abandoned by his parents in the vile recesses of Nar Shaada. But it was in this environment that he thrived, whether it be through simple pickpocketing or even more long-term cons, Ansem could always get ahead. And one day, someone took note. A man claiming to be his father took him in and "tutored" him, honing his skills further and bringing him into the family business of smuggling. Ansem excelled here too, and even came to respect and even love his apparent father. But Ansem's father apparently didn't share this sentiment, as after a smuggling job went south and a corrupt Imperial moff was pursuing them, Ansem's father abandoned him once again, allowing Ansem to be taken captive by the moff. While he did eventually escape, Ansem has held deep-seated trust issues ever since, as well as a grudge against his father.
Motivation
Cause - Spite
While Ansem is most definitely motivated by credits, the real reason he continues to pursue his profession is anger towards his father and a desire to one-up him.
Obligations
Betrayal
Value: 15
Ansem's father betrayed him when he abandoned him to be captured by Imperial forces, an act that Ansem has never forgotten. But Ansem has also done his fair share of his betraying, something that may come back to bite him if any of his spurned clients get ahold of him.
Description
Ansem is a bald Sullustan who wears a fairly unremarkable dark jacket and pants. The jacket was given to him by his father and appears to have once had an insignia on its right shoulder, but it has been haphazardly stitched over. He keeps his blaster holstered inside his jacket.
