An outstanding student of medicine on Arkania, Zandrus could have gone on to become one of the galaxy's leading geneticists. However, he preferred the more pragmatic approach of surgery and rose in prestige until he became one of the top surgeons at the Grand Medical Facility in Coruscant.

When the Clone Wars came to an end and the Empire succeeded the Republic, Zandrus resigned, disgusted by the evident tyranny of the newborn regime. He eventually used the considerable funds he had acquired to set up a clinic on an Outer Rim world wracked by the Galactic Civil War.

Although he took great pains to establish his clinic as a neutral ground and provided medical care to Imperial troops as much as he did to insurgents, he was quickly identified as a dissident element and a threat to galactic society. His clinic was bombed into rubble and he was left for dead.

Having barely escaped with his life, he fell into despair and became a barely functioning alcoholic struck with wanderlust. After many years of aimless wandering, he came across a peculiar set of ruins which called out to him. Within them, he found a strangely alluring red and black triangular device. What he eventually came to know as a Sith holocron opened up to him and revealed the potential the Force held for him.

Armed with these newfound dark secrets, he linked up with the budding Rebel Alliance, eager to make the Empire pay for its transgressions.

Zandrus' leading desire in life is to see the Empire brought to an end. It is a pox upon the galaxy that needs to be excised with extreme prejudice.

A doctor by trade, Zandrus feels an innate compulsion to better the lives of those in need. He is however afflicted with a tendency to get passionate about the underlying causes for pain and misery, a passion which all too often results in violent, vicious reaction on his part.

Zandrus is a middle-aged Arkanian of slightly above average height and lean build.

As with all members of his species, he has pale, white eyes devoid of pupils. His stark white, balding hair is combed over and he maintains a venerable chinstrap.
