Arkuat was a test pilot for the SoroSuub corporation on Sullust. His job was to make sure the various space vessels the company produced were space worthy. He was supposed to push the ships to their limits to ensure they were within specifications. If he deemed it necessary, he could require a line be sent back to R&D, essentially stalling the project. Sometimes indefinitely.

This is what happened to put him at odds with Taor Snill, a project lead working on a contract for the Empire. When Arkuat nearly died in a test flight of the prototype, he marked it for redesign. Unfortunately, Taor couldn't afford to delay this particular delivery. Through subterfuge and skulduggery, Taor framed Arkuat for the death of another test pilot, using Arkuat's well known desire to be the top pilot in the company. Faced with overwhelming evidence, unable to prove his innocence, and the threat of Imperial involvement, Arkuat stole the first ship he could lay his hands on and made his way to the Outer Rim to hide.

Now Arkuat hires himself out as an expert pilot and occasionally as a smuggler. He does what he can to stay one step ahead of his pursuers.

Ambition: Status

Arkuat has always had a desire to prove himself. He wants to be the best. He is always evaluating himself in comparison to everyone else around him. Besides dodging the authorities and bounty hunters, Arkuat would probably continue in this life because it's fun and allows himself to prove himself on levels that he couldn't have accessed before as a test pilot.

Arkuat has a criminal record with the Empire for Murder, Grand Theft Auto(?), Resisting Arrest, Accessory to Armed Robbery, Smuggling, and Impersonating an Imperial Officer.
