Background

1) How did you discover your force sensitivity?

Garram initially did not understand that he had been using the Force. It is very rare for a Gank to become Force-Sensitive, and those that do usually become Alphas without much problem--it just turns them into better hunters which in turn grants them more prestige within their race. It was much in this way that his life progressed. However, due to the wrath of the Hutts at failing to kill his target (who happened to be a recruiting Master from the New Jedi Order), Garram was left with little choice to either join with the New Jedi Order or to die at the hands of the Hutts and the other Ganks they would likely send after him. It was not Garram that discovered his Force-Sensitivity. It was the Jedi Master who he was sent to kill that did.

2) Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.

Garram has done nothing but fall prey to his moral weakness time and time again as he worked for the Hutts--often killing who he was ordered to in the most vicious ways possible as it was what was ordered of him. He has ripped apart families, thrown intelligent men and activists for other sentients' rights into pits from which they would not come out alive. These actions when he performed them were not considered reprehensible at all--they were simply orders and he was to perform them. Now that is under the tutelage of the Jedi, he is beginning to understand just what morality is, and how his actions fit into that framework.

3) How did you come to join the NJO?

A Jedi Master (who is currently unnamed in order to provide an easy GM hook) had angered the Hutt Cartel due to the Master's attempt to help a Rodian family who was working on plans for a new toxin. What ensued was that Garram was sent with a small group of Ganks to kill this particular Jedi Master. Of course, the Gank was not able to defeat the Jedi, and realizing that he too would face the wrath of the Hutts for not being able to do so, he decided to escape the situation by taking the offer of the Jedi Master to be trained himself as the few Force-Sensitives that appear in the Gank race often fall to the Dark Side. Of course, Garram is still relatively ignorant to this, though it is obvious to the Jedi.

3) Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival.

Before he left the service of the Hutts, Garram's strongest challenger to become an Alpha among the Ganks was Meerak. Though, it is possible that the other Gank was Force-Sensitive, he was not a match for Garram at that point in time. It has been a while since then, however, and Garram's failure and subsequent flight from the Hutts likely opened a power vacuum which Meerak may have taken advantage of. Who knows, perhaps Meerak has awakened to his own abilities and may end up as a Dark Side reflection of what Garram may have turned into if the two of them see each other once again?

[Optional] Describe a pivotal moment in your life where you demonstrated your moral strength despite adversity.

I would personally rather play these sorts of things out because I think they actually represent a good deal of interesting things about this kind of character. He has been ignorant to the entire concept of morality as his culture did not originally have one to begin with, so roleplaying that is something that I think would be for the best. Though, I think it important to point out that he has already made great shows of moral strength despite how he was brought up. A good example of that is the fact that he chooses to use a training saber despite knowing it is an inferior weapon to what he used to use. To a Gank that is tantamount to showing weakness which is a completely foreign concept as it is not part of their culture. It shows his dedication to the Jedi Master that chose to spare his life and attempting to learn this new idea.

Welcome to the Jungle - 1/27/18 Minor Breakthrough +25 XP, +1 Narrative Rank Coordination, -3 Conflict, -3 Morality

Garram's first time in physical training with the Jedi alongside Jecov, Seyzoe, Loraa, and Clio. They were all forced to go into Master Kiltan's obstacle course at which point in time Seyzoe took command to lead everyone through it. Instead of racing they all walked through to the finish line after braving the Gauntlet (which Garram's wrecked on his way through). After that, they went through training with Master Ezo where they practiced combat against each other. Seyzoe abandoned the training which resulted in Garram no longer seeing him as a leader. Garram was easily put in his place physically by Master Ezo, and he still does not understand why he was not killed for losing since that is what happens when Gank lose. Garram has come to realize that now that he is away from other Gank for the first time in his life he is truly alone. In his eyes what the Jedi are doing here is something similar to creating a Gank pack (though much less efficient), so he has decided to protect the other four acolytes even though they are not strong enough to watch his back like a true Gank pack.

Glass Danse - 1/28/18 +10 XP, +0 Morality

Garram, Qiric, Mia, Ohta, and Skourge were invited to a dance party in order to do Public Relations for the New Jedi Order. Hi-jinx ensued. The Gank sold the pit fight demonstration with Skourge well. He was not bid on at the auction, which is causing him to question his ability as a fighter (even though the auction had nothing to do with that). He currently thinks dancing is a strange method of fighting in which people try to eat each other's faces after watching Mia dance with an NPC who kissed her. 10/10 would get wrecked in the face in a pit fight and watch a Jedi try to eat someone's face again.

To Be A Jedi - 1/29/18 Minor Breakthrough, +15 XP, Outdoorsman Talent, +2 Boost to the next Athletics/Streetwise check in a city (used), +3 Harmony, -2 Conflict, +1 Morality

Garram, Seyzoe, Jecov, Orem, and Koro took a shuttle to Coruscant in order to help repair the Jedi Temple. While trying to do the exercises Master Kiltan had instructed the Gank to do in order to understand the Force, a closet door looked at him funny, so he punched it off its hinges straight into the shuttle's bulkhead. While at the Temple, Garram asked questions of Master Solusar to understand how the Jedi weapon, the lightsaber actually functioned. He now understands that the exercise to feel the Force that seemed so pointless was actually the method by which Jedi found the crystal that became the core of their weapon. This makes much more sense to him. All the acolytes were given tasks to create biomes in order to enable others to train for different environments. Garram built Nar Shaddaa with its blind alleys and ambushes. The acolytes met the young Solo twins. On the way back Garram felt some remorse about the damage he had caused and managed to repair the door he had broken. He also started to try to not kill Jecov.

A Modest Proposal - 2/1/18 Minor Breakthrough, +20 XP, +1 Morality, +300 Credits

Field Trip - 2/1/18 Major Breakthrough, +20 XP, -4 Conflict, +5 Harmony, +1 Morality, +1,300 Credits (Hannah Institute of Antiquities Like Garram), +5 Renown.

VallaHalla- 2/3/18 +10 XP, +0 Morality, +300 Cr, (+Upgrade to next knowledge check regarding Lightsaber Forms)

Garram, Koro, Skourge, Alema, and Thalia were summoned to the training grounds and witnessed Rakand and Ohta fighting with their lightsabers against Knight Valla. Curious about the methods of Jedi combat, the Gank watched with rapt attention and began to absorb their styles of combat, filing away the information for later to perhaps practice on his own. After dismissing Rakand and Ohta, Valla led the five acolytes on a blistering run through the forests of Yavin IV until they reached a stream. She had them all pair off in knee deep water and fight against each other. After that, they all meditated and Garram had a vision of Knight Valla's past when she was trained by Master Ossa twenty years ago. When Valla told them they had a break, Garram followed her into the forest to talk to her during which time the other four acolytes were attacked by large wild black cats. Valla told the Gank that he should go back for some mysterious reason and he arrived back in time to find Thalia mauled by one of the cats and Skourge wounded after killing two of them. Rushing to their aid, he used the repulsor in his cybernetic arm to kill the last one, sending it flying into the fast-moving stream nearby. Valla's words to Garram meant that she knew that the attack was going to happen and had purposefully left them alone for it to happen. He is currently confused since Valla's actions are most definitely against what the Jedi have been trying to teach him about protecting others.

A Whole New World - 2/6/18 Major Breakthrough, +25 XP, +2 Harmony, +2 Morality, +2,800 Credits

Garram, Rakand, Ash, and Ursa were sent by Master Kiltan to bring some supplies to a man called Gamel. Before they left on the trip, the Gank visited Master Antioch Liogos in the Archives in order to learn some Basic as it related to mechanics and other devices which turned out to be notes left by other Jedi (the writings in question he found were those of Master Ossa). Bringing some of it with him onto the ship with the intention of studying it further, he met the others there. It turned out that all they had for where the supplies needed to be delivered was a broken message with fragments of coordinates. Thanks to Ash increasing the volume of the transmission and Garram using his mechanics know-how in combination with the Force to fix the broken pieces of the transmission, the group set off toward what they thought was to be dead space. During the trip, Ursa and Ash assisted Garram with his studies in Basic. When they arrived, they found a planet and a broken New Republic probe droid floating in space. Recovering the droid, they flew around the planet to find the ship that had been entirely painted in dark colors that made it difficult to find. Docking with the ship, they all walked through the airlock to find themselves transported into a cave rather than another ship like they had thought. After Rakand and Garram went through a waterfall, they discovered a domed rock in a circular room. The Camaasi reached out toward it, but the Gank found that strange large vines were attached to it and cautioned against it. Taking a stick, Garram poked it only to be entangled by the vines and suspended into the air. Gamel, who turns out is a Jedi Master arrived and let the Gank down. Master Gamel was the owner of the vessel and had spent the better part of his life creating this life-like planetary experience in his ship. They all then gave the Jedi Master the requested supplies before flying back to the Paraxeum and returning the New Republic their probe droid for which the Jedi were handsomely rewarded.
