Background
Shedd is a Chadra-Fan whose life as a former slave shapes his darker thoughts and attempts at humor. Born into slavery, he learned quickly how to work alongside his parents on the swoop racing team which owned them. After a particularly poor race, Shedd was sent to fetch parts for which to repair a broken thruster. Upon his return, he found a massive fire had engulfed the team's lane, and everyone save for a few slaves (Shedd's parents not among them) survived. Shedd took part in a miniature revolution of the remaining slaves, disabling their collars and implants to effectively free them of their former masters forever.
Escaping the planet with but a few belongings he acquired and some he traded for, he now finds himself looking for a new place to settle, build himself up, and decide his new path...
