Name Rank Book & Page Description
Cyberneticist Special Modifications pg 29+34 The character removes (one black die) per rank of Cyberneticist from his checks to build, repair, and install cybernetic implants. In addition, cybernetics and any materials used to craft cybernetics cost the character 50% less (this does not decrease with additional ranks of Cyberneticist).
Eye for detail Special Modifications pg 29+34 After rolling the dice pool for a Mechanics or Computers check but before interpreting the results, the character may voluntarily suffer a number of strain no greater than his ranks in Eye for Detail. If he does, he may convert that many successes into Advantage (The character must still have at least 1 success in the results at the end to succeed on the check.)
Overcharge Special Modifications 35 Once per encounter the character may take the Overcharge action by making a Hard Mechanics check and choosing one of his cybernetic implants that grants him one or more of the following: + 1 to a characteristic rating, + 1 rank to a skill, or + 1 rank of a ranked talent. If he succeeds, until the end of the encounter the chosen cybernetic provides an additional + 1 to any characteristics ratings (to a maximum of 7), an additional + 1 ranks to any skills (to a maximum of 6), and an additional + 1 ranks of any ranked talents that it provides. The GM may spend 1 Despair from the check to have the overcharged cybernetic short out at the end of the encounter; it provides no benefit until the character spends several hours making an Average Mechanics check to repair it.

Background

Empire Mechanic: Before leaving home, "Gank" was a mechanic for an Empire "Droid Repair Facility." In truth little was ever done to repair recovered scouting drones. Instead, through the use of his droid interface implant (a rare commodity even for the empire), Gank was expected to simply transfer their records into the Empire's database and throw the rest in the scrap bins. Obviously the Empire's Xenophobic plant managers never bothered to learn how interface devices work, Gank saw every bit of data that passed through his hands. Eventually, he had enough of passing truly horrid images through his brain. Gank took all the data his implants had automatically recorded and brought it too the rebellion. Though not yet trustworthy in the eyes of rebellion leaders, Gank is willing to do what it takes to put an end to the horrors he witnessed the empire inflict on droids, organics, and everyone in between.

Motivation

Invention:
The character constantly desires to create new devices. vehicles, or programs. Sometimes. the character invents something new to overcome a specific problem but more often than not, the act of inventing something new is its own reward. Of course, the character's desire for novelty can sometimes get in the way of finding an expedient solution. After all, sometimes a simple tool is the best one for a given job. Still, a character driven by this Motivation is likely to at least try reinvenling the wheel from time to time, even if the results aren't particularly useful.

Duties

Tech Procurement:
There is no more prolific or productive time for technological developments than during a war, and this one is no exception. This Player Character sees the true opportunity for Alliance victory in the hands of scientists, engineers, and technicians. Not only can they get the most performance from existing machines and resources, but they can design and develop new ships, weapons, medical techniques, and equipment that can provide the vital edge necessary to survive against the Empire's might. The way this PC sees it, stealing the best developments of the Empire is a crucial way to even the odds.
