Background

Born on Cathar, Cixin was told she was born for greatness. Her parents would regale her with stories of great Cathar heroes and their awe-inspiring bravery and impossible feats. She loved them, and was told that, through hard work and dedication, she could become a great hero one day as well.

But something blew Cixin's course astray. One day, a shadow appeared from the sky and loomed over Cixin's native city-tree. It stayed there for a day, silently watching, and prompting fear among its inhabitants. The next morning, Cixin awoke to blazing lights and frantic cries of "slavers!" Immediately, her parents, along with any other able-bodied person, jumped to action, grabbing their weapons to defend the city-tree. They valiantly attemptted to fight off the intruders, but unfortunately, the community was greatly outnumbered, and as their home burned around them, more and more Cathar were cut down or captured. Finally, as Cixin watched from their home, her mother was felled by a blaster bolt in the chest. Her father was devastated, crying out as his ferocity increased tenfold. Enraged and detached, he cleaved into the slavers with his weapon, slaying them one by one while also sustaining several wounds himself. But then he looked to Cixin. This was a losing battle, and his sacrifice would mean nothing if she wasn't safe. So he scooped up the sobbing girl in his arms and they fled, the glow of their burning home illuminating the night behind them.

The two rushed through the barren deserts of Cathar for days on end, sorrowful and directionless. Finally, Cixin's father succumbed to his wounds at an oasis, telling Cixin not to despair, and find her own way. The young Cathar tearfully made a grave for her mother and father, then journeyed back into the vast desert. Her new life was one of foraging and sheltering, and Cixin became quite the survivalist in the process. Still, she would remind herself of the stories of great heroes. It was these that kept her going. Each hero experiences hardship, she would tell herself, but what marks a hero is how they respond to it.

Finally, Cixin made it to a new city-tree. There, she would attempt to start a new life by becoming part of a new family, but it was never truly the same. This was not her home. Even so, Cixin persevered, sure that one day her endurance would pay off.

One day, it did. In a chance encounter, a Jedi master encountered Cixin while on a diplomatic visit to their city-tree. Sensing her Force-sensitivity, the master offered her a place in the Jedi Order. Overjoyed, she accepted, and she bade farewell to her homeworld, excited to see what the future would bring.

Motivation

Ambition - Glory

Cixin wishes to become a great hero, like those she was told tales about when she was very young.

Morality

Strength: Bravery
Weakness: Condemnation

Knowing she is destined for greatness, Cixin fears nothing. However, this also leads to her setting an impossibly high standard for herself - one that she can never truly reach, causing deep self-condemnation.

Description

Being a Cathar, Cixi has tan fur and black markings on her face. Her hair is wrapped into a long ponytail on the top of her head, with it hanging down behind her. She is lean and fit, due to her time in the wilds of Cathar. Cixin is also somewhat tall, accentuating her agile frame. As for her attire, she wears sandy brown robes and a dark tunic underneath.

She is quite mature for her age due to her tumultuous upbringing, resulting in her being something of a stoic. Her default position is arms crossed, vigilantly watching. However, this does not encompass all her attributes. She is a deeply passionate being, and if something has her attention, it truly has it, for better or worse.
