Background
Tavan Archos has always had a passion (some would say obsession) for studying alien military cultures and intergalactic war, even going so far as to submit information requests to the Jedi Archives in order to better understand past galactic wars. In a galaxy that had not seen a full scale intergalactic conflict for centuries, this was seen as eccentric, at best.
Now that war has erupted with the newly formed Confederation of Independent Systems, some have been forced to admit that Tavan may have been a bit prophetic (others would say that even a total idiot can get lucky). Tavan has been tapped by the GAR to help "fill in the gaps" between the tactically-minded clone soldiers and Jedi Generals who likely never expected to lead an army, much less participate in a galactic war. Clones understand how to take an objective, and Jedi see the big picture, but someone has to coordinate system-scale operations to make sure it all links together. The opportunity to study the nascent military culture of the clones is just an added benefit.
Motivation
Strategic Innovation: Tavan may have studied historical accounts of previous intergalactic wars, but the Clone Wars cannot be won by using the strategies developed during the Mandalorian Excision. Tavan wants to develop new, enduring strategies and doctrines that will influence not just this war, but also the wars to come.
Duties
Operations Planning (0): Tavan believes that achieving an objective requires robust planning. Certainly, flexibility is required, and officers on the ground need discretion to adapt to unforeseen circumstances, but an overall plan needs to be in place if everyone is going to pull in the same direction.
Description
Tavan is a neutrois (androgynous) Tholothian, with dark skin and indigo eyes. Zhe is accustomed to wearing the blue, double-breasted uniform of the Judicial Forces along with a Tholothian headdress, and wears the "bluecoat" moniker with pride, despite its derisive use by planetary sector forces. Tavan gives the impression of being an unassuming officer, but underneath zher gloves are the calluses of someone accustomed to firing a gun or handling a flight stick. Zhe is generally quite happy to let people underestimate zher until the point for decisive words or actions is reached.
