Crixin is a self-made Falleen. His family was against his styles and motivations; and did not support his endeavors. He was able to get his foot in the door with the Black Sun via some scummy decisions he made that he refuses to talk about. Since then, he's gotten fronted some various Drugs and Narcotics that he peddles as he explores the galaxy finding his claim to fame.
