Background
Lazstat was born to a family of Mirialans with an abnormal number of Force practitioners. His family owned a fairly large freighter and ventured around the galaxy taking jobs of different kinds, scavenging, and trading. They kept their true goal of gathering force techniques secret under the disguise of roaming traders with an interest in culture. His grandfather, Nazsan, was a powerful force user with no adherence to any classic tradition, such as the Jedi or Sith - he simply used the Force as he wished. He had more consistent dark side tendencies but worked hard to keep a balance of some kind. In his mind, he was able to keep sparks of control by valuing his own family above all else. He blended wisdom that he could gather from a variety of traditions but, like all who dip into the dark side, began to spiral out of control.
He would continually rely on the Force to make lucrative trade deals that became more outrageously unrealistic. His family was conflicted, some believing that this use of the Force was their right and others believing it was too dangerous and that the Jedi would come for them. The latter proved to be correct.
While stopped on a planet near Coruscant, Jedi who had been pursuing rumors of a powerful dark side Force user had found Nazsan using the Force to make rich trade merchants hand over credits and deeds with the intention of reselling them immediately elsewhere. The Lamegnsk family, with no intention of being captured by the Jedi, attacked and tried to flee. The Jedi were forced to defend themselves and killed many of Lazsat's family, though Nazsan escaped aboard one of the merchant's ships.
The Jedi searched the family's ship and found a multitude of items collected from around the galaxy as well as a small baby boy. He had pale green-yellow skin, black hair, and bright yellow eyes. This is Lazsat, who they took and trained in the Jedi Order.
-----------
Lazstat's grandfather was a dark side force adept who went around collecting information from gnarly traditions. He's trained with the force adepts from Anzat (vampire planet) and learned how to use Heal/Harm. He found remnants of information about the Dathomir Nightsisters, and learned Conjure. He searched far and wide for artifacts from the Sith and any other tradition he could find.
-----------
After joining the Jedi Order, Lazot quickly found he was much more agile than most of the other younglings, most likely due to his Mirialan blood. He watched others spar and quickly grew adept at the Ataru form of Lightsaber combat, loving the symbolism of the Hawk-Bat and the aggression that the form promoted. He often was reprimanded for being too hasty in combat, but was commended on his honesty and straightforwardness (though admittedly, he's so bad at lying that he couldn't if he wanted to). He had energy beyond measure and always wanted to be doing something, with meditation being something he struggled with. When he wasn't fidgeting, he was passed out from exhaustion. He continued his way into being a Padawan, but was never able to quiet his mind enough to master some of the more basic techniques that most Jedi posses. On the other hand, his lightsaber skills were outrageous and he had no trouble enhancing his own movements to get from place to place. The Jedi Knight he trained under, Yannik Armadi, was beginning to get frustrated that conventional methods weren't working.
Yannik and Lazot went on many diplomatic missions together, and one such mission involved a Gungan arms manufacturer. One of the items produced by this group was the Gungan Energy Shield, a device that strapped to the arm of its wielder and expanded using Gungan bubble technology to form a protective barrier. Yannik had the great (and preposterous) idea to give Lazot this shield as a way to learn to value defense. They began training Lazot and he quickly became fond of this device. On one mission involving pirates and a miraculous deflection of a blaster bold with the shield, he learned the importance of defense and the role it plays in the survival of life. He took this to heart, and while he kept his favored Ataru form, he began to practice more on how to defend himself and the philosophy behind defending others. He also found that defense and patience could also lead to greater opportunities, both in combat and out. Wild aggression is not the answer.
Eventually Yannik had to go on a solo mission to Geonosis, leaving Lazot behind as it was believed to be too dangerous for him. "Whatever," Lazot thought. "I'll just train a bit harder so when Yannik gets back I can surprise him with some new moves!"
Little did he know, Yannik would be one of the Jedi to fall in the battle of the arena, and Lazot would be assigned a new master.
Motivation
Lazot wants to become a great Jedi. Ever since his grandfather gave him that tattoo he has felt a calling to strive to be the very best that he can be. He is forever thankful for the Jedi Order to teach him how to become more than he thought possible.
Morality
Lazot is ambitious. He strives to accomplish lofty goals, and the harder the task, the more willing he is to take it on, and the greater the triumph when he completes it.
Lazot is naive. He does not understand the depth of lies that people can go to and is prone to reveal all his cards, keeping nothing close. He is an open book.
Description
Lazot is a pale gray-green Mirialan. He has black hair and golden yellow eyes with black flakes. He has a distinct tattoo from his bottom lip down to his neck, with geometric repeating patterns that artistically blend into flowing and sharp lines. His Padawan braid is adorned with trinkets and designs from various cultures around the galaxy, memories of his youth. He constantly gets in trouble for having additional abnormal stylistic choices that he puts on his robes, from drawing patterns that he remembers from stories to writing words in languages he thinks looks cool. He's got anklets and bracelets made from cloth and adorned with beads, as well as toe rings and necklaces he always tries to hide. If allowed to put his wardrobe collection together, he would look like a shaman from a fictional story.
