Background

Zero was a 501-Z Police Droid constructed to keep order on frontier worlds during the time of the Galactic Republic due to the shortage of manpower across the galaxy. He served as law enforcement into the Imperial Period, mostly on recently occupied Separatist worlds. However, his fairly average existence as a police droid would be turned on its head when he was shipped to Sun Raa shortly after the end of the Clone Wars. A once wealthy metropolitan world, the planet had fallen into chaos by the time he arrived, with criminal groups allowed to run free and ruthless partisans violently resisting Imperial occupation. Throughout Zero's 10 months of service there, the Imperial garrison struggled to keep the planet under control, with the garrison's commander often sending Zero and the rest of the ragtag police droids as fodder against the waves of criminal and resistance groups. During one particularly violent skirmish, Zero was gravely damaged, with the back of his head being bashed in and his left leg being almost completely destroyed. Months later, Zero was taken for scrap by scavengers, then sold off to one of criminal groups. Seeing that he was in relatively good condition, at least for scrap, they repaired him and removed his original programming, intending to use them as their enforcer. However, when he regained consciousness, Zero killed them all in a sudden outburst of violence. Somewhere, deep inside of him, his programming still existed, resulting in an almost compulsive desire to destroy criminals. As Zero emerged from the criminal's hideout, he learned that the Imperial garrison and resistance groups had capitulated to the criminals, with both being essentially absorbed into their organization. Disgusted with the state of the planet, but also understanding that he could not the entire world on himself, he decided to set out into the greater Outer Rim and hunt down criminals, and perhaps one day return to Sun Raa.

Motivation

Belief: Order
Above all, Zero aspires to bring about, or at least help in bringing about, peace and order in the galaxy through the elimination of crime.

Obligations

Obligation: Obsession
Value: 15
Zero has an obsessive desire to seek out and destroy crime and criminal activity. This is probably a remnant of his original programming.

Description

Zero is a 501-Z Police Droid, standing at nearly 6 feet and 2 inches tall. He is painted a crimson hue, though this paint has chipped and faded over the years, leading to a muted crimson color. The midsections of his arms, as well as the bottom of his metallic feet and the rear of his head are painted a dark grey. Additionally, the back of his head has a rather obvious indent in it, and his lower left leg is quite clearly welded back together

Zero is an extremely determined and decisive droid and will stop at nothing to complete a contract. However, he is also pragmatic and practical, knowing that to accomplish his goals, he sometimes must use unconventional means. He has a talent for predicting his enemy, a trait left over from his original programming.
