Tor was born during the days of the Galactic Republic, and was of age to fight during the Clone Wars. A member of the Old Mandalorians, he fought for both sides on different occasions. His parents often took turns raising him, one would leave to take a job and the other would stay home with little Tor. Right before the Clone Wars started, Tor's parents both were hired for a job, and they left Tor in the care of their close friend, Jaresh Specc. Tor's parents never came back from that job though, and Specc took Tor under his wing as his co-pilot for the smuggling operation he ran with his R5 droid. After Specc was presumed dead on a heist gone wrong, Tor struck out on his own a few years later and became a mercenary for hire to either side in the ongoing Clone Wars.

Toward the end of the war, he had been working with two Jedi and two Clone Commandos when Order 66 was given. The Padawan fell quickly, but the Jedi Knight cut through the Commandos after a hard fought fight. The Jedi Knight came at B`varn next, and he barely escaped after cutting her down.

Reporting to the nearest Republic (now Imperial) outpost, he turned in the robes of the Jedis as well as the helmets of the Clone Commandos. He took the reward for dead Jedi and struck out on his own again, using some of the reward to track down and buy Specc's old astromech droid, R5-B9. Together they started their own smuggling business in Specc's memory, and have been wandering the galaxy ever since.
