Orus Mardin's fall from grace began during the clone wars, when the banking clan was nearing bankruptcy after the republic began winning the war against the confederacy of independent systems. When evidence exposing the banking clans corruption was revealed, its leaders were replaced and war was brought to Scipio, the headquarters of the Banking Clan. Orus Mardin was an executive accountant with the clan who's duties included arms contracts to supply weapons to the Confederacy. When the Banking Clans assets were seized by republic forces, and control moved to the supreme chancellors office, Orus Mardin was all but ruined, but continued to support the confederacy until its fall.

Bankrupt, and on the run from the now Galactic Empire, Orus used his old connections to build up his own business network, supplying black market gear and firearms under the guise of an antiquities dealer. For years he plied his trade on Ord Cantrell, to much success. Just when things were picking up, and he was beginning to gain back what he had lost, a surge of force sensitive individuals and the assassination of the planetary governor drew the attention of the Empire. Orus was forced to flee the planet after Imperial intelligence began searching the market for the source of the illegal weapon used to assassinate the governor. Narrowly escaping capture, and slipping past the Imperial blockade, Orus was once again forced to start over from practically nothing.

Orus now finds himself on Tatooine, laying low to avoid suspicion from the empire.
