Background
Born on Iakar to loving and successful parents, Branno Gorym was never satisfied. He had everything he needed - his mother and father were prosperous merchants who traded with offworlders and gave him all the affection and attention he needed, but young Branno was still dissatisfied with his life. He wanted to fly like the outsiders, blasting through space without a care and doing as he pleased. But his parents kept him at home. It's for your own good, they said. Branno wouldn't listen to them, of course. One day, as the offworlders came around to trade again, the young Iakaru slipped into their ship, stowing aboard in one of the cargo compartments. As soon as they arrived at their next stop, Branno disembarked, leaving the traders none the wiser. And the planet was like nothing he had ever seen before. Towering metal monoliths littered the skyline, and enormous crowds of people hustled and bustled all around. It was incredible. It was freeing. Everything he wanted. At least that's what he thought initially. Branno eventually got accustomed to the world, getting a job as a busboy at a local restaurant and sleeping in the alleyway behind it. But he still wasn't satisfied. This wasn't the life he had envisioned - there was no excitement, no intensity, no freedom. So Branno moved on, pleading with a local smuggler to take him with her as she traveled around the galaxy. After what seemed like days of begging , the smuggler finally conceded, allowing the young Iakaru but one trip. And it was everything he had hoped - thrills, revelry, and even danger. Also, fortunately for Branno, as the smuggler saw his natural talent for flight, this one trip turned into many, and the two became close friends. But after several years of working together, the galaxy changed forever with the Empire taking power. Regulations became stricter, security became tighter, and clients dwindled. The Empire cracked down hard on criminals, and consequently, the pair's work became much more dangerous. Dangerous enough, in fact, that during a run, Branno's smuggling partner was captured by Imperial forces, only allowing mere moments for the Iakaru to escape with their ship. He was devastated, but he soon turned this loss into action, as after doing a job for the Rebel Alliance, they offered him a place in their ranks - one that Branno took eagerly. With this position, he can take vengeance on the Empire for his lost friend and maybe, just maybe, make the galaxy a better place. (At least in Branno's eyes.)
Motivation
Belief - Freedom
While it may not appear that Branno believes in much, he does have one deep conviction, and that is freedom. He is dedicated to fostering freedom across the galaxy, allowing anyone and everyone the right to do as they please.
Addiction - Adrenaline
Branno is a hopeless thrill-seeker, sometimes to an incredibly dangerous degree. As he sees it, he wasn't allowed the experiences he wanted as a younger man, and he's making up for that now.
Duties
Space Superiority
Value: 5
As one might expect from a pilot, Branno is dedicated to gaining an advantage in the air, and takes it as a personal affront if this is not achieved.
Description
Branno is a short and stout Iakaru who constantly has an eager grin on his face. He wears an armored flight suit complete with a helmet and air tubes. He leaves this helmet off most of the time, as he finds it restrictive. He proudly carries his customized blaster on him at all times, and uses his pockets to store his booster blue.
