Background
They were being relocated to Onganta 7 as a courtesy, the Imperial representative had explained. Their region of Naboo had become unsafe. Zan-Zee was documented and herded into the transport along with around three hundred of her people, none of whom knew quite what was going on.
When they reached their destination, nothing happened as planned. Rather than a new home, the Imperials forced them into indentured servitude – veritable slavery – mining plasma for used in the Empire's conquest of the galaxy. Worse still, many Gungans simply accepted their newfound lot in life, their subservience to Marq Dorin and the drybone Imperial officer, Commander Morak.
When Boss Souso and the other members of the Council would do nothing to bring about some sort of change for the people, Zan-Zee Zonks decided she must be the one to act. She would no longer live under the thumb of the Empire. She would never be a slave.
In the dead of the night, Zan-Zee fled into the forests surrounding the encampment. Since her escape, she has lived off the land, hunting and fishing, gathering and subsisting on herbs and local vegetation. And when the opportunity arises, she harries and harasses the Imperials and the corporation, sabotaging their machines and doing everything in her power to slow the production and delivery of plasma to a crawl.
If only she knew others who believed as she did...
