AW-D-0 had its voice emulator replaced to be a backup singer on Nar Shaddaa. Through a surprising twist of fate, his owner was killed without transfering the droid as property. So, AW-D-0 began to make its way through the galaxy.Thankfully, its song repertoire allowed it to communicate well beyond the "GONK! GONK!" of its brothers. It was difficult going, but everywhere it went, it learned new songs. Some traditional. Some modern. And things got better.
On the day it discovered that songs also elicited an emotional response in organic life forms, it crossed over into a whole new galaxy of understanding. The same words, sung differently, with different melodies, sometimes overlaying each other, created joy, or sadness. Inspiration or rage. Love or comedy. AW-D-0 discovered that he was, by all accounts, a bard ... and things got much better.
