Like nearly every Jedi of his era, Garth Tuuli didn't remember much of his parents. Only a vague impression of their doleful faces, and a dreamlike memory of himself being whisked away from them by the Jedi. As a Youngling, Garth was always talented, having a natural aptitude in both combat and Force abilities. In fact, he was often held up as an exemplar for ideal Jedi behavior, practicing discipline and selflessness as if it was his religion. Consequently, he advanced to Padawan quickly, and was soon assigned a master just as the Clone Wars began. The war did not affect Garth as deeply as it did some other Jedi, as he and his master were usually assigned to light missions - supply runs, diplomacy, and the like. This continued until one fateful day in 22 BBY. Garth and his master had been called back to the temple for reassignment, as well as to fix Garth's recently damaged lightsaber, but were surprised to find that the council was nowhere to be found, only younglings anxiously waiting in the chambers. It was not long after that they heard cries and blaster fire coming from the main hall. Garth's master immediately jumped to action to defend the temple, and he ordered Garth to stay put and defend the younglings. The Padawan waited, fearfully listening to the dying screams of his fellow Jedi and the constant, ominous marching of boots through the hallowed halls. Finally, Garth's consitution broke as he watched his master retreat down the corridor towards him, and then get gunned down by an unseen assailant. Overwhelmed by terror, the Padawan abandoned the younglings, fleeing through the temple and finally finding a Jedi Sojourner. He used the ship to escape, then hid out in it for as long as he could, hoping that the carnage would blow over. He's still waiting.

Garth believes deeply in the Jedi ideals, and is very dedicated to upholding them, no matter the cost.

Garth is a very disciplined and principled Jedi, but this can lead him to being cold and distant at times, despite his good intentions.

Garth Tuuli is a young, somewhat disheveled-looking Mirialan who wears his dull, gray Jedi robes and an armored pauldron on his right shoulder. He has attempted to keep himself presentable, but his efforts have been essentially wasted, as his hair has grown long and his clothes are obviously worn.
