Background
1) How did you discover your force sensitivity?
Qiric's Force sensitivity has never really been a secret - though Force sensitivity is rare among Gotal, it is obvious early on in an infant's life when the infant is constantly overwhelmed by the emotional states of those around him.
Most of these latent Force sensitives are not especially strong or talented with the Force, and as they age they gain a measure of discipline and learn to shut out their oversensitivity - but Qiric is either too latently strong in the Force or too undisciplined to have ever achieved this level of peace, and he was sent to the Praxeum at an early age (five years ago, at the age of 12) to try and learn. Master Luke, unwilling or uncertain in how to go about training a child at the time, has mostly allowed him to meditate and observe until he got older and allowed for his training to begin, only a few months ago.
Qiric's observations of the Order, its people, and its actions have led him to be an ardent believer in the inherent 'goodness' of the light side of the Force and the Jedi Knights in general, and he has thrown himself at his studies with complete fervor.
2) Describe a pivotal moment in your life where you demonstrated your moral strength or a moment of awesome that is still spoken of in some circles.
A display of genuine compassion is rare from a young child - especially such a display under stressful circumstances. Qiric made waves within his first couple weeks of formal training (only a couple months ago) when he constantly became the calming influence on others, even at the expense of his own discipline and the loss of his own control. These displays of selflessness have helped his fellow students advance, while costing him advancement of his own. Qiric is glad he has this ability, but he continues to grow more resentful that he cannot seem to get these sensitivities under control and learn discipline over himself - and that his Masters appear relatively unconcerned with what he sees as a deep, intimate character flaw that he cannot overcome alone.
3) Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.
Qiric hasn't really experienced a true tragedy yet in his young life - especially spending the last five years cloistered in the (relatively) peaceful Jedi Praxeum. The closest he has ever come was a situation where a student temporarily fell to the dark side, and being in close proximity with someone drawing on such negative emotions caused Qiric to fall into a desperate, enraged panic. In his confused state, he injured another young student, and it was only the timely intervention of a Jedi Master with a significant amount of experience in the Dark Side himself, Kyp Durron, calmed him and kept him from doing greater harm.
4) How did you come to work for the NJO?
This is pretty much answered by 1).
5) Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival. (I'm gonna name two, because I'm a dirty cheater)
1) Master Ossaki Ezo took an early interest in Qiric and has been training him, privately, away from the Temple, for about a year now. Under her tutelage, Qiric has learned to subtly influence the minds of others and turn his latent emotional sensitivity into a method of detecting others' presences and deeper emotional states.
2) Adira Ilesar - a female Dressellian who recently graduated to formal Padawan status and began getting missions across the galaxy, Qiric was responsible for bringing her up to speed with ubiquitous technology she was lacking on her homeworld in return for her bringing him tidbits of knowledge and training she received. Many a night were spent sneaking out of their bedchambers and into the forest for a sparring session or meditation. Her recent departure from the Praxeum has left a significant hole in Qiric's life.
Motivation
Qiric has come to recognize that, although the NJO's methods may be frustrating at times (he has certainly felt held back and resentful towards the Order for not allowing him to formally train while he was younger), the Jedi are easily the strongest force for good in the galaxy, and he has come to idealize and idolize their beliefs and even many of them on a personal level, and he strives deeply to become a Jedi, so that he can use his powers to ease the suffering of a galaxy still wounded and reeling from generations of war.
Morality
Current Morality: 53
Strength: Compassion - Qiric's intense ties to the emotional states of those around him have made him a natural if perhaps reluctant empath, often times being able to get to the crux of a difficult personal matter with a friend or companion before even fully trained Jedi Knights.
Weakness: Hatred - the flip side of this is that Qiric has a tendency to see the negative too often - the fear, the intolerance, the anger that sentient beings inevitably fear - and he has developed a tendency to harden his heart and become hateful to those whom he is not certain are worth helping through their difficulties. It is a constant struggle for him to empathize with those whom he senses do not deserve empathy, despite what he knows of the Jedi teachings.
Description
Qiric is a little leaner than your average Gotal, probably owing to the life of constant physical training he's been under since joining the Order. The typical full-facial Gotal beard has not really come in, which would be an embarrassment in Gotal culture, but has really not caused Qiric any issues on Yavin.
Black of fur, with the typically darkened red eyes of a Gotal.
Father - Kov'ree
Mother - Nuriel
