When Qui-Gon Jinn told the Council that he believed Anakin Skywalker would bring balance to the force. Not everyone believe. And of those that did, not everyone thought it a good omen. A small group among the Jedi Watchmen known as “The Brotherhood” was clearly in the latter category. They saw the Jedi Order at a pinacle and suspected that “balance” would require the Order’s fall.

At the final meeting of The Brotherhood at Denon in the Inner Rim (chosen because it was on two trade routes) the members of The Brotherhood agreed to defy the Jedi Council and avoid participation in the Clone Wars. Moreover, the members of The Brotherhood would go into hiding in suspended animation, planning to (if needed) rebuild the Jedi Order upon awakening. Fearing the worst, the members of The Brotherhood scattered across the galaxy to begin their slumber. No member would know where the others would go, for if the Sith did rise again, no member of the Brotherhood could betray his brothers. Upon awakening, each brother would leave a message on certain server on Denon so that others could find them.

Master Jonas Shaaf headed for Manaan in the Inner Rim and had encased himself in carbonite and stored until a date in the future one of his brothers had forseen… But Jonas Shaaf is the only name listed on the server on Denon. Where are the rest?

Jonas Shaaf was already a Jedi Master when he was frozen, and had taught at several Jedi training facilities, including Bpfassh (which he left because of a disagreement with senior leadership). Due to his demanding personality, Shaaf had only trained three students before the Clone Wars. All three were Sentinels with the goal of becoming Jedi Watchmen. None survived Order 66.

Master Jonas Shaaf is 6’ 1” with dark skin and an average build. He sports a black, modestly sized ‘fro and a moustache. His Jedi robes, which follow the convention of The Brotherhood, are gray. Again following the convention of The Brotherhood, Jonas Shaaf wields a red lightsaber, which was taken from a defeated Sith. The red lightsaber is to serve as a reminder of how close all Jedi come to the dark side and how easy it is to fall...
