Background
As a detective on an Imperial world, Jubei never paid much attention to politics. His priority was getting to the bottom of the cases he was assigned, and with his keen intellect and single-minded determination, he was considered one of the best detectives on the force. Then he was assigned to a murder case. every lead he followed dried up immediately. Witnesses died in accidents, evidence went missing from the evidence room. Jubei quickly became convinced that someone in the force was interfering with the case. He confronted his superior about it, and was told to drop it. The next day he was assigned to another case. Unwilling to let it drop, Jubei continued to quietly investigate the case. But not quietly enough, it seems, as not long after, he was intercepted on his way to meet a witness, and taken captive.
