Assets & Resources

Kryll has built a small camp in the forest near the Praxeum where he spends most of his free time. It's right next to the little pond near the Praxeum where a Whisper bird's nest can be found as Kryll loves to listen to the birds' song.
It contains the following items:
a Tent, a Flash Fire Camp Stove, and a Water Purifier. The tent is filled with a workbench and several hand-made tools which count as Specialist Tools (grants one automatic success for all Survival checks - finished 20180505, 13:00 EST). The camp is free to use for every member of the Praxeum who wishes to spend some time in nature.

Critical Injuries & Conditions

Talents

Name Rank Book & Page Description
Glider CotG 15 A Sathari can fall safely from any height and can glide over small gaps or distances while falling. While conscious, a Sathari character does not suffer damage from falling
Grit 1 FaD-CRB 144 Each rank of Grit increases a character’s strain threshold by 1.
Keen Eyed 1 FaD-CRB 146 The character removes 1 Setback Die per rank of Keen Eyed from his Perception and Vigilance checks. Checks made to search a specific area take 50% less time than normal. This does not decrease with additional ranks of Keen Eyed.
Forager FaD-CRB 143 The character removes up to 2 Setback dice from his skill checks to find food, water, or shelter. Survival checks to forage take half the time.
Swift FaD-CRB 153 The character does not suffer the penalties for moving through difficult terrain (he moves through it at normal speed, without spending additional maneuvers).
Animal Empathy FaD-CRB 139 Force talent. When making checks to handle, tame, or control animals, the character may add a number of Force Die no greater than his Force rating to the check. The character may spend 1 Force Point to add 1 Advantage or 1 Success (character’s choice) to the result.
Animal Bond FaD-CRB 138 Force talent. Through the Force, the character creates a bond with a single animal with which he is currently interacting. This cannot be done during structured encounters. This animal must have a silhouette equal to or smaller than half the character’s Force rating when the bond is created, rounded down (this means a character with Force rating 1 could only bond with a silhouette 0 animal). The bond persists as long as the character chooses it to, although at the CM’s discretion, the bond may also be broken due to abusive treatment or other extenuating circumstances. As long as the bond persists, the animal remains near the character, and the controlling player dictates the animal’s overall behavior (although, since the animal is only bonded with the character, not dominated, it may still perform certain inconvenient actions such as scratching furniture, consuming rations, and marking territory). Once per round in structured encounters, the character may spend one maneuver to direct his animal in performing one action and one maneuver. The animal must be within hearing and visual range of the character (generally medium range) to do this. Otherwise, the animal does not contribute to the encounter. The specifics of its behavior are up to the player and GM.
Force Rating 1 FaD-CRB 141 Force talent. Each rank permanently increases the character’s Force rating by 1.

Background

Question-Answer summaries
1) Kyrll didn't know that he was force sensitive until a travelling Jedi told him.
2) A wild animal hurt his sister. Kryll gave in to his desire for vengeance and hunted the beast for days until he found and killed it.
3) The Jedi, Master Katarn, offered Kryll a place at the NJO. Kryll joined in the hope to learn new powers to help his people.
4) His sister Kaylee, back on Arbooine.

How did you discover your force sensitivity?
Kryll didn't really understand that he was a force sensitive until the traveling Jedi Master Katarn told him when Kryll met him in Zeilo. It was true, he always had a knack running, jumping and gliding through the forest, but Kryll had always thought that he was simply a little faster than most of his friends and family. And yes, he often had a feeling that animals were nearby, but everyone could listen to the forest and pick up the subtle clues with his gut feeling that something was there. Of course, he sometimes had a sense of the feelings and surface thoughts of his family and the beasts they encountered, but Kryll assumed that this was natural. After all, many people have a general idea what the people think they're close to. And every good hunter knew what their prey was up to - you only had to watch them.

Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.
It was when he was fifteen years old and was out hunting wild tarvixes with his little sister, Kaylee, when suddenly a vicious black bearsloth attacked. The beast dropped down a tree right on top of Kaylee and attacked her. After Kryll had chased the beast away, he realised that a part of his sisters right wing was missing. He took care of the wound and carried the girl back to their village. After a sleepless night in the healer's hut, it became clear that Kaylee's wing could be safed but that she would not be able to fly for a long time if at all. All night, a hot feeling had risen in Kryll. At first, when he was busy carrying his sister back, it was just a small flame at the back of his mind. Now, after worrying the whole night about his sisters fate, it was a raging furnace, burning with the lust of vengeance. Nobody had the right to hurt his family - and Kryll was going to make sure that a certain beast won't have a chance to do so ever again. He took his Diiro, waved his family good bye and disappeared in the forest. During the next weeks, he was just a shadow, stalking bearsloths until he had finally found the one he had searched for, the one with the black fur. The following hunt and battle was short - and very satisfying. When Kryll returned to the village, the flames of vengeance were almost forgotten once again.

How did you come to join the NJO?
Kryll was travelling to Zeilo, Arbooine's capital city, to sell the goods his village had produced during the last months. Walking through the market streets, Kryll realised that someone was following him - a human stranger. The man introduced himself as Master Katarn. Apparently, the Jedi Master had come to Arbooine for some much needed repairs for his space ship. The man told Kryll that he was strong in the force. The two of them talked a lot during the next days, while both were waiting, one for his family to sell their goods and the other one for the repairs of his spaceship. During their discussions, Kryll realised that he had an obligation to travel with the Jedi and to learn about the Force. There were many good hunters on Arbooine and several still in his village. But there was no one else strong in the Force. If the stories of Katarn were true, the powers of a Jedi could help his people and family a lot and in many ways. So he agreed to accompany the Jedi to his new Jedi school in the hope to return one day to Arbooine with new powers as a gift to his people.

Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival.
Kaylee, his younger sister. As the young woman was never able to regain the full strength of her injured wing, she spent most of the last years in the village, training to be the next head of the family and the village. Kryll was often away from the village to forage and hunt but he always longed to return to meet and hug her again.

Kryll was born in a typical Arbooinian family clan, which inhabited a small village, several travel days from Zeilo, Arbooine's capital city. There he was raised in a loving family and was trained to be a hunter for his people, stalking the forest for prey. Furthermore, he learned about the plants and animals of his home world and how to gather them. It was an easy life, surrounded by the buzz of the forest and only few modern technical devices.

Motivation

Other Notes

Adventure log:
20171113: Spring feast and lightsaber contest.
20171202: Found a big whisper bird (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Whisper_bird) nest near the Praxeum; played with and befriended a whisper bird family with several young chicks. Investigated missing supply crates; found old alliance 3PO unit, that assumed Kryll and his friends to be Imperial troopers; Character Breakthrough: Impressed Knight Naro with finding the "thief";
20180114: To Dungeons Deep: TAC-3PO awoke; radio transmission: attack on Mon Cala; Imperial Remnant makes strange official announcement about rogue admiral; met young technician whose family, the Lesik clan, was on Mon Cala, vacationing. Went down with other acolytes to discover the lower levels of the temple and to assess and repair structural damage; While repairing a crack, Kryll got a strange feeling, that the technicians family clan was dead and was devastated as the young woman would be now all alone in the darkness of space; got rallied again by Myri, who pointed out that Mon Cala had experience with droid attacks and that the New Republic was already sending help. Ludd disappeared in a black spider web of black ooze. Kryll tried to break through but it didn't work at first. As Kryll's tries got more desparate and more aggressive (Dark Side usage) he managed to dig his way through and find Ludd, who told them that he had a strange experience with the force as well. Ludd, Myri and Kryll decided to go and get a Knight as fast as possible to examine these strange force visions. Minor Character Breakthrough: Kryll learned how important it is to keep his team, friends and clan safe and together. Furthermore, Kryll now realises how lucky he is that his friends and family are safe. He now wishes to help the unlucky ones whose friends and clans are in danger.
20180428: The Resistance: A relief convoy startet at the praxeum. The group made a stop at the Wheel and Kryll was overwhelmed by the impressions of the gigantic casino as he had never seen something that big with that much music and people before. When the group jumped to their staging system right before Mon Cala, Kryll used the time to learn a bit about sensors and took some target practice with the ship's weapons. They jumped to Mon Cala to transport weapons to the Resistance in a YT-2400 with two NJO fighters as escorts. The group jumped right into a massive Space Battle between the NR and the droids and used the confusion of the battle to get past the blockade. Kryll made ace by shooting down five Vulture starfighters. The droids did not use sound tactics to win, they only tried to inflict as much damage on NR ships as possible. The NR had to go in full retreat as the Mon Cala shipyards' defenses proved too strong. The NR sacrificed a Super Star Destroyer to cover the retreat. The group joined up with the Mon Cala Resistance led by Admiral Ackbar below the water surface who told them that the Resistance had devised a plan to shut down the droids for a few minutes to allow Mon Calamari and Quarren evac ships to escape. The group then had to infiltrate a droid control station to activate a programm placed there by the Resistance. They jumped down from their ship onto the station, opened an air vent access hatch and infiltrated the station. They managed to upload the programm after a heavy battle with several kinds of droids and survived thanks to Epp; Once they rendevouzed with the NR fleet and evac transports, the group was hailed as heroes. The Lessik family managed to get to safety on board one of the evac ships. Next day: ceremony; Kryll got awarded with the Alliance Civilian Battle Award (https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/6/6c/AllianceCivilianBattleAward-XWA.png/revision/latest?cb=20060320202225).
