Background

Born to a lower caste family on Umbara, Dare Thaxton never believed he would have the opportunity to ascend in rank, at least not early in life. The coming of the Clone Wars saw new opportunities open up for him, but he only truly applied himself once Umbara threw itself in with the Separatist cause. Thaxton believed like many of his peers in the self-determination of the Confederacy and hated the corrupt bureaucracy of the Galactic Republic. In time, he was able to lead a whole platoon before the war ended. Having been moderately successful in the field, the sudden dissolution of the Confederacy and deactivation signal left Dare out in the cold and surrounded by enemies. His narrow escape into the Outer Rim was fraught with peril. Most of Thaxton's colleagues did not survive the attempt or simply returned home. Alone and ill equipped to face the Empire on his own, Dare threw his lot in with the nascent Rebellion.

Motivation

Redemption: The sudden collapse of the Separatist Alliance at the end of the Clone Wars left Thaxton a bitter and broken man. Felt betrayed by the incompetence and death of his leaders, he fled to the Outer Rim in order to continue the fight against the newly formed Empire and redeem himself on the battlefield.

Duties

Combat Victory: Thaxton's personal experience in the Clone Wars has led him to be a capable commander on the ground. The end of the Clone Wars would suggest otherwise with the defeat of the Separatist Alliance and the formation of the Galactic Empire. His personal need to prove his capabilities against the Empire has earned both praise and concern.
