Background
R6 hates the Empire. The way in which not just sentient populations, but also droids, are slaved to them is abhorrent to R6's free-spirited 'you can do it all' personality. Commissioned for the New Republic, R6 is a master of jury-rigging, inventiveness, and even the ability to pilot a starfighter by themselves if the situation requires it.
Motivation
Showing that the R6-Series of Astromech Droids truly is superior to the more-venerable R2-Series and that they're an invaluable asset to his new squadron.
Duties
Duty:
Tech Superiority | Red knows that while having the best pilot on board their starfighter is the most important thing, having Ran on the best combat platform is a very close second. If not for the Rebel Alliance's focus on maintaining tech superiority, the Alliance would never have acquired X-Wings or even created A-Wings or B-Wing starfighters, let along have transformed them into what they are today.
Red is always looking to improve upon the existing design of their starfighter and push the most out of it during engagements.
Obligation:
Oath | Red is willing to sacrifice themselves for the betterment of the New Republic's cause of freedom - but is even willing to sacrifice that if it would mean that her pilot, Ran, is safe from harm... Even if it would be abandoning all other responsibilities... Or even their friendship.
