Parry 2 When hit by a melee attack, suffer 3 strain to reduce damage by [3].
Toughened 2 +{4] WT
Stalker 1 Add Boost to all Stealth and Coordination checks.
Expert Tracker 1 Remove setback from checks to find tracks or track targets. Decrease time to track targets by half.
Durable 1 May reduce any Critical Injury by 10 to a minimum of 1.

Outdoorsman 2 Remove 2 setback per rank of Outdoorsman from checks to move through terrain or manage environmental effects.
Prime Positions 1 When this character or an ally in Short range takes cover, he increases soak against ranged attacks by 1 per rank of Prime Positions until he leaves that cover.
Cunning Snare Once per encounter, the character may take the Cunning Snare action to use materials in his environment to assemble a trap within short range. Each time another character moves to engaged range of the trap, he must make an opposed Vigilance vs. Survival check against the character who placed the trap. If the character who triggers the trap fails, he suffers wounds (ignoring Soak) equal to the trapper’s Cunning characteristic, plus 1 additional wound per Failure. The trapper may spend Threats generated by the check to disorient the character for 1 round per threat spent, three threat or a despair to immobilize the character for one round, and despair to stagger the character for one round. Once a character springs the trap, it is expended. At the GM’s discretion, the character may spend a Despair from the check to have it remain functional for one extra use. The trapper may disarm the trap with an action. Any other character who is aware of the trap may spend several minutes to attempt to disarm it with a Hard Survival check. If he fails, he suffers the damage and negative effects of the trap as if he had triggered it.
Second Wind 2 Once per encounter, may use Second Wind incidental to heal strain equal to ranks in Second Wind.
Dodge 1 When targeted by a combat check, may perform a Dodge incidental to suffer a number of strain no greater than ranks of Dodge, then upgrade the difficulty of the check with that number.
Disorient 1 Adds Disorient 1 to all weapons

Background

1) How did you discover your force sensitivity?

After his service in the Rebel Alliance as a bushwhacker on his homeworld of Kashyyyk, he found himself in emotional turmoil. His long reflections brought out a deeper awareness of the world around him, which was identified by his elders as something approximating the Force.

2) Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.

On Kashyyk, Chiiserlakk and his fellow soldiers encountered a patrol of rank-and-file Imperial Soldiers sent out to find and kill Chiiserlakk. The enemy soldiers attempted to surrender during the battle, but Chii had killed them. It was only afterwards he realized they had tried to negotiate a surrender in the first place. The stresses of war, his rage, it had all culminated into something fundamentally *wrong.*

3) How did you come to join the NJO?

After the Galactic Civil War against the Emperor was won, Chiiserlakk went back to his home on Kashyyk and resumed his position as a traditional warrior of his people. However, he found that he could not. The war had opened his eyes to the suffering of not just his own people, but the galaxy itself.

He felt aimless, restless. Without a purpose.

After awakening to the Force and deep self-reflection, he elected to go to the New Jedi Order to join the warriors who defended the galaxy, with a philosophy that would perhaps give him the enlightenment and purpose he so desperately sought.

4) Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival.

Commander Zacjer Clatac, Human, 58

Zacjer was responsible for freeing Chiiserlakk and a small group of his people after the destruction of the first Death Star in a daring raid against an Imperial slaver compound. He convinced Chiiserlakk to use his talents as a warrior and Wookiee heritage to become a guerrilla fighter of his own homeworld.

5) Describe a moment in your life where you demonstrated your moral strength despite adversity.

After the liberation of Kashyyyk and Chiiserlakk's re-instating of a warrior for his people, a group of individuals came down and posed as visitors to the planet, refugees of lingering pockets of conflict. In reality, they were smugglers that stole priceless artifacts. Chiiserlakk apprehended the criminals, who begged for mercy. They had run into deep debt, and their lives were at stake if they could not produce enough credits to pay it off.

Chiiserlakk brought them before the justice system of Kashyyyk, and Chiiserlakk personally not only brought truthful testimony, admitting uncertainty in grey areas that risked getting the criminals off the hook, and even pleaded their case on their behalf. In the end, they were granted protection in exchange for services, to which the smugglers agreed.

Motivation

Self-Discovery

Chiiserlakk feels as if he does not know who he is anymore, or what his purpose is. He hopes the New Jedi Order will illuminate one for him.

Morality

Morality: 61

Compassion / Hatred

Chiiserlakk holds a grudge on his homeworld's invaders; the semi-sapient battle droids that invaded his home, and *especially* the Empire. He has yet to fully forgive either.

Description

Chiiserlakk is a towering behemoth, even by Wookiee standards. His hair is groomed finely and with great care. He face is time-worn and troubled.

He holds himself high, and often watches the things around him carefully.

7'0" Tall
~200 years old

Other Notes

Duty:
Justice - 3

Chiiserlakk wonders if the reason for his troubles is a sense of justice he cannot fulfill. Regardless of whether this is the reason for all his troubles or not, he wishes to represent his people and the Republic in their values.

Obligation:
Shellshock - 10
Chiiserlakk's experiences in the Rebellion have forever shaped and scarred him in a way that has changed him forever. It continues to impact him to this day. Restless nights, a burning desire to do *something*, fits of rage, a lack of purpose, grudges he cannot let go dispite his better nature and understanding that he should, and a deep unsatisfaction with his life. The symptoms ebb and flow, ever changing like the tide bringing salt water and brine upon old wounds thought to have healed.

Favour (Santa) - 5

Breakthroughs:

05/27/20 - Minor Breakthrough: Gaining insight on Naro's counsel; the nature of waiting and understanding before acting and helping.

05/28/20 - Minor Breakthrough: Meeting a genuinely kind and generous Imperial for the first time and changing his point of view on the Empire as a whole.

06/13/20 - Minor Breakthrough: Realizing that his inherent, deep-seated anger still remains, and he must deal with it in order to become a Jedi.

07/29/20 - Minor Breakthrough: Cheese questions his own commitment to the Jedi Order's ideals of pacifism after Jedi Master Heiram Vortek's example and philosophy presents a higher height than Cheese believes he can ever achieve, creating self-doubt.
