Background
Bothans are one of those species who just end up causing or being affected by chicanery (largely the former). Bergère was always a well to do Bothan, from an affluent and successful family (albeit not one with much power) and travelled.
Bergère's force sensitivity was seen as a liability to the clan, and was subsequently banished to the far off world of Thorund (so far off that no one had ever heard of it until now).
Coming to grips with what the force has become an impetus for Bergère, although the ability to hide force sensitivity would allow for re-integration into Bothan society.

A sort of dialectic between force-inspired curiosity sprung from ignorance and a desire not to leave behind the unstable pariah life of a hidden force sensitive

A typically cagey bothan upbringing paired with the paranoid life of a force sensitive has taught a certain level of conservativism to Bergère. Neither a light side exemplar nor dark side foil
