Background
Hira was born as the daughter of a rather unlikely pair: Her father was a spy working for a Republic senator, and her mother was an actual Jedi Knight - or rather, a former Jedi Knight. When Hira's mother realized that she could no longer serve the Republic and Order first, she left it for love.
As a child born of two such entirely different worlds, her time growing up on Coruscant was more than a little strained and strange. Despite her incredible strength in the Force, her father was adamant about her not joining the Order, eventually getting his wife to agree, and so, she instead taught her own daughter as best she could on her own.
The more time passed, the more her own family began to tear apart. When the Clone Wars began, Hira's father joined Republic Intelligence as a high-ranking operative, at times going away on missions for years - in that time, she grew to resent him, and soon, he became colder and colder towards his family.
And so, in secret, Hira's mother did more than simply teach her how to stay in control of her powers - instead, she educated her daughter in the ways of the Jedi, the Force, and much, much more, as best as she could. Formerly, she had been a seer - a gift she had passed onto Hira, and they both soon sensed impending dread and doom... Yet shut off from the Jedi Order all they could do was flee in the night of Order 66.
Separated during their escape, Hira doesn't know if her mother is still alive or not - and doesn't even know if the Empire knows about herself and her abilities. Even now, years after the fall of the Republic, she dreams of someday going back - that someday, her family may be happy again, instead of cold and distant. That one day, she could even be a Jedi like her mother before her.
But such dreams do precious little to feed one on the Outer Rim. Masking her abilities as mundane talents, she has joined a Bounty Hunter's guild, attempting to do the most important thing for her dream: Stay alive to one day fulfill it.
Motivation
Faith: The Living Force
Though her education is woefully lacking, Hira understands that everything, in some way, is connected - to and through the Force. It still guides her hands, eyes and actions, even now, far away from home and while hiding her true abilities and heritage.
