1) Jak discovered he was force sensitive during an argument with his father regarding Jaks departure from Bothawui. He sensed that behind his fathers angry words, was fear of rejection and loneliness.

2) Upon discovering his Clan had been trading secrets to both sides of the galactic civil war for profit. Jak abandoned his family, even the right thing done for the wrong reasons was unacceptable to Jak.

3) With few options Jak traveled to Yavin leveraging favors with the few contacts he had left. In hopes that he was in fact force sensitive and would be able to provide his street smarts to the budding NJO.

4) Jak befriended the pilot of his voyage, Pash. Who as a refugee from the GCW, shared stories of that time that showed callousness from both sides.

Jak is generally skeptical and curious. Leading him to have a positive demeanor that is at times mistaken for arrogance. He understands there are various motivations behind others actions, and that seemingly harmful actions are often symptoms of misdirected positive intent. That being said seeing others act out of purely selfish or hurtful motivations is unforgivable to Jak. actions such as taking advantage of others ignorance or situational vulnerabilities greatly anger Jak.
