Na Torthal was a smuggler with a family. He helped the Hutts enslave his people and export them from Ryloth. He figured it was better to help the Hutts rather than being one of the families kidnapped and sold into slavery.

His wife didn't agree. She left him and took their children with her, escaping off world to some remote part of the galaxy. He hasn't seen any of them since.

When his wife left it Na went through a long process of self discovery. He gave up smuggling his people and is now active as a spy and smuggler in the fledgling Rebel Alliance. He occasionally looks for his family, but has never been able to find them.

One day he had a strange desire to go to the Kintan system. Once there he was contacted by Shaldiva Ashvin, a girl he had kidnapped from Ryloth many years before. He had delivered her, as he had done with countless others, to Gardulla the Hutt on Nal Hutta.

Na picked Shaldiva up from Fortress Kh'aris in the Endless Wastes of Kintan. She wouldn't say much of what had happened to her, how she ended up on Kintan, or where she was going. Na took her to Kwenn Station, she gave him her doll and necklace as a parting gift and he hasn't seen or heard from her since.
