Telepathy SoR p.99 Polis Massans can communicate with other beings at short range using a simple form of telepathy. This communication is akin to a broad cast, and anyone within short range ‘‘hears’’ the Polis Massans speech. Polis Massans can only "whisper" privately to beings they are engaged with.
Surgeon EotE p.144 When making a Medicine check to help a character heal wounds, the target heals 1 additional wound per rank of Surgeon.
Grit EotE p.65 Gain +1 strain threshold.
Stim Application EotE p.143 Take the Stim Application Action; make an Average (♢♢) Medicine check. If successful 1 engaged ally increases 1 characteristic by 1 for the remainder of the encounter and suffers 4 strain.

Background

At a young age, it was clear to the community that Stitch was not cast of the same mold as his forebears. Although he possessed and exceeded the extraordinary intellectual capacities of his peers, he also exhibited an insatiably curious mind and reckless nature. Where his peers in medicine and exobiology were content to study in theory and from afar, Stitch yearned to study in practice and immersed in the mysterious cultures.

Due to this uncommon combination of traits, Stitch was one of the first Polis Massans to be sent coreward to study and research amongst the multitudes of species in the Core Worlds. Stitch did not have an aversion to interacting with other species characteristic of his race. In fact, Stitch found the act of interacting with different species and immersion in different worlds illuminating and exhilarating, making the value of life much more precious.

As successful as his studies were on the Core Worlds, Stitch’s naïveté made him vulnerable to ambitions not common amongst his people. Polis Massans were reknown doctors and xenobiologists. They excelled in medicine and the art of healing as well as the science of cloning on Polis Massa. On the Core Worlds, however, Stitch discovered the medical applications of drugs and stims. The latter was of particular interest and reckless as he was, Stitch began to experiment with stims on himself to directly observe and record the physical effects and transformations. His experiments were unsanctioned by the medical institutions so Stitch procured the necessary resources illegally. As the results of the experiments became more dramatic, the frequency of the experiments increased with Stitch unknowingly falling victim to stim addiction.

As was inevitable, the unsanctioned experiments and theft of medical resources was discovered and Stitch was subsequently expelled. Upon return to his home asteroid, Polis Massa, Stitch found himself ostracized and unwelcome. Disgraced with a desire to redeem himself, Stitch braved the lawless Outer Rim, hoping to find a way back home.

Motivation

Cure (Cloning)
• Stitch believes that the path to restoring his honor, and thus, his way back home, is through helping to solving the mystery of the Eellayin and the successful cloning of a specimen. Stitch hopes to expand his knowledge of medicine and cloning to return to his people with answers about the Eellayin. Short of this, Stitch also hopes to affect the galaxy on larger scale, saving the lives of not the one but of the many.

Understanding
• Though expelled from the Core Worlds, Stitch has not lost his curiosity for the unknown. Here, in the lawless Outer Rim, are many new species, cultures and worlds to immerse himself in and learn from. Stitch hopes to continue to research, explore and catalogue that which is forebears have yet to.

Obligations

Disgraced - Magnitude 10
• Stitch has been ostracized from his home community. He has taken the unconventional path of braving the frontier world in the hopes of acquiring knowledge and answers to his fellow Polis Massans. When this obligation is triggered, someone recognizes Stitch and his transgressions which causes Stitch to suffer from anxiety (setbacks), paranoia, and the uncontrollable need to escape the current situation.

Addiction - Magnitude 5
• Though it was the catalyst for his expulsion from the learning institute and exile from his home world, Stitch still must fight to resist the urge to experiment on himself with stims and drugs. Those times when his will succumbs to his urges, Stitch finds himself losing sight of the goals at hand and must satisfy his addiction before moving forward.

Description

There is a general uniformity in appearance across the Polis Massan race as they lack facial features to distinguish one from another. Stitch is highly atypical of his species due to the fact that he possesses a wiry strength in body gained from his extensive time on the Core Worlds and the planets’ stronger gravities. This is also compounded by Stitch’s experimentation with (and addiction to) stims which directly affected his physical nature. Lastly, Stitch possesses unusually large and expressive eyes for a Polis Massan which mirror the extremely open and inquisitive mind that allowed Stitch to venture farther than any Polis Massan before him.

Other Notes

Morality

Emotional Strength - Compassion
• The character cares about the tribulations others face, and wants to help those he comes across. His compassion may lead to self-sacrifice in order to aid those who need it.

Emotional Weakness - Hatred
• The galaxy can be a cruel and heartless place, and compassion can quickly turn into hatred of the individuals or situations that cause others to suffer. When a character’s mind roils with simmering hatred, that hatred may be all too slow to fade.
