Background
Spark Plug worked on imperial capital ships as a diagnostic droid for gunnery weapons, but was treated poorly with no breaks or oil changes and minimal time at the chartering stations. This, and the realization that his work was only harming the galaxy, drove him to leave the empire and join the rebellion.

Spark plug used to be a part of the Empire. He was once a diagnostic droid for imperial ship cannons, but was driven to leave the oppressive regime and committed to its downfall when he realized his work was only causing harm and not growth in the galaxy.
