Hetaera is a former slave, whose freedom was purchased by a powerful client of her master; gifted to him, really. Subtly, behind the scenes, she orchestrated her own manipulations.. but both the Hutt and her benefactor believe it was their own idea, in their own best interests.

Now, she is beholden to none.. sort of. The stage is set, though: she has her independence, and will one day be truly free!

She is a performance artist, at heart, and genuinely enjoys what she does. Intending to continue in the same line of work, she has aspirations for more. She is constantly dreaming up new short skits, for a burlesque act she hopes to put together. Envisioning lavish costumes, polishing choreographed sequences in her head.. Once she has the resources, she intends to purchase the indentured servitude of other Twi-leks in her situation, allowing them to work it off.

The Hutt who previously owned her is now free of an independent-minded, strong-willed young Twi'lek.. who never made a very good slave, and was decidedly a bad influence on the rest of the harem. He still manages to receive a measure of her earnings, however, in the form of "costume rentals" (see Obligation).

Hetaera was friends with Shura Marcellus as a girl, on the streets of Nar Shaddaa, for about a year. When the slavers took them, she saw the beating they gave her, and the scar it left. She admired her for her fierce spirit, but adopted a veneer of compliance, biding her time. She paid for it with long years of servitude, but was talented enough to set her own limits.. to an extent.

Just recently, she recognized the telltale scar running through Shura's eye, at a table full of mercs. Their childhood bond, and indeed, bondage, allowed them to quickly renew their friendship. This was Hetaera's introduction into the gang running the club.. which is something she was looking for, and needed.. thinking about changing her name to "Serendipity."

Genuinely considers herself an artist.. but not with her head in the clouds. Creative, but pragmatic. Entrepreneurial.

Base 5 + Contracted 10 = 15

-Still owes "rental fees" to her former Hutt owner, for most of the outfits, jewelry, and props she uses in her performances.

-While she attributes her emancipation mostly to her own cleverness, the benefactor who overtly negotiated her release.. is covertly (and unbeknownst to her) a foreign agent, a propagandist (Empire? Rebellion? Corporate Sector Authority? Some other player)? This agent has been notably absent, of late; but presumably intends to utilize Hetaera as an asset, at some point..

-Owes 60 credits to Doctor.

Palest Lavender Complexion, with darker freckles on her cheeks, shoulders, and lekku.

Dark eyes

1.8 meters

~25 years

When in mundane clothing, without her stage makeup, few would mistake her for her stage persona.

Other Notes

"Serenity" is a stage name she has adopted.

Used by slavers across the galaxy to keep their
“merchandise” in line, the neuronic whip is a terrible
weapon banned on many worlds. A powerful electrical
charge runs the length of this cruel wire whip, discharging
when it strikes its target and sending painful
impulses racing through its victim’s nerve cells. The
whip emits an ominous low humming sound when
charged, exploding like the crack of a gunshot when it
comes into contact its unfortunate target.
This weapon can be used to make melee attacks
against targets at up to short range (the difficulty
remains Average ♦ ♦ ).
