Chaika may not be a venerable diplomat, but she carries a proud legacy on a traitor's shoulders.

To make a long and heartaching story short, Chaika is minor nobility. She hails from a colony in the mid rim, Tolovar, one of Chandrila's old daughter worlds. Her family was part of an ancient dynasty of civil servants responsible to the Republic and the beloved Chancellor. Countless members of Tolowin family have served as clerks, ambassadors, foreign secretaries and liasons in the aid of any species deserving of a voice. By the time Chaika was a kid, her parents expected her to follow in her footsteps. They expected big things out of a waifish, delicate girl with a big heart.

Until the Empire rose from ash and soot. After all efforts to de-escalate the Clone Wars turned to ailure, the Tolowin family lost its prestige.

The new regime didn't care for diplomats, but its cogs enjoyed the family name for its value. With that in mind, the sector Moff for Tolovar asked for marriage in 2 BBY. Not with Chaika, but her older sister Katcha, a woman of better constitution and a fairer looks. The family saw this as a way to get back into the Empire's graces. Despite their misgivings with the state's nakedly cruel policies, survival was more important in the moment. Perhaps some good could be done in the system. With Chaika's final say, Katcha accepted the offer and left.

Within a month, news broke that Katcha had been broken. She had been savagely beaten and abused while the ISB hid the details to protect the Moff's integrity, then groomed as a second wife. She was barred from coming home or going to authorities on threat of summary imprisonment. The revelation of her misery split Chaika to the bone. The better of them was torn to pieces. Chaika could have stood her ground, but she relented, and let her sister become a muffled slave. This couldn't go unanswered. Chaika had to do something. Chaika had to stand up for some sort of justice, or else live with the consequences.

On Katcha's 27th birthday, Chaika released damning evidence of the abuse on the local holonet. She went into hiding the next day, seeking out the Rebellion to put her education to good use...

Chaika's mission is one of outreach. The Alliance needs legitimate support to get hard assets to continue the fight, so they are counting on diplomats like her to secure valuable allies under the table. Whatever mission Vornskyr squadron takes, her duty is to make inroads and make friends with people in high places.

Chaika is a powerful voice in a runty frame. Barely 5 feet tall. She is visibly anemic and often is the palest one in the room. Usually dressed in a shawl and a traditional Chandrilan robe, her knobby frame is usually in hiding. Brown hair, big blue eyes and expressive smile, on the other hand, are hard to miss.
