Background
Tol was raised in space. While his parents played their part in the Free Ryloth movement, that part consisted of them acting as smugglers, ferrying arms, equipment, and food supplies to Ryloth from other parts of galaxy. It was on that small freighter that he learned to navigate, shoot, and pilot.
What he learned in this life, though, was not a respect for his heritage, a love of a good cause, or a sense of duty; what he learned was to value speed, skill, and the rush of pulling off maneuvers that seemed impossible at first blush. With the war over, the New Republic forming and struggling to determine its path, and Ryloth firmly declaring itself independent of any galactic government, Tol decided to break away just as his parents settled in to high level government roles. The disapproval of his family meant that he was on his own to find his way out in the greater galaxy, but his love of racing and piloting has never quite waned.
Tol served on a few crews, but never quite was happy being a co-pilot or alternate on a racing team, so he decided the best way to get out into the wide racing world was to borrow from a Hutt to finance his own ship. So long as he could win a few races (which he easily would), he'd be able to pay back the loan easily.
So long as he didn't gamble away his loaned money in an attempt to double his startup capital.
Which he promptly did.
So now he's broke, in *desperate* need of a ship, and eager to get out into the galaxy as quickly as possible.
Motivation
Obligations
Debt [15] : Tol has a sizable loan from a hutt he took out to buy and upgrade a ship to compete in the Dragon Void Run. The problem is that he decided to gamble *that* money away to try and have enough to buy a better ship. He lost it all.
Description
Tol's green and white patterned skin sticks out even amongst most Twi'leks, but he's never minded being the center of attention. He is short, thin, and agile, relying on his speed and piloting to get him out of any jams he gets into.
