Charon's Toll, formerly a smuggling vessel, was refitted in 40 BBY when the former captain decided to settle down and create a smuggling waystation on the moon of Nerit, in orbit around the planet Ossus. The Clone Wars brought an end to his little operation after several years, and he was forced to relocate elsewhere, leaving his ship behind. During its refit, he closed off a portion of the cargo hold to install a hidden hyperspace communications array and the smuggling compartments were replaced by a series of reinforced power generators to power the array. As a result, smuggling compartments cannot be installed on this modified vessel.
