Background
Kigo was an arkanian-mirialan hybrid offshoot engineered for the sole purpose of being a personal slave-like kid to a wealthy senator in the republic [ Vanros Massbri ] , by his underworld contacts in the Black Sun. Kigo does not have much memory of her early childhood after the "tank", and the only parent figure in her life was the man she despised, yet had to serve every wish of, at the risk of her shock collar punishment.
During a diplomatic mission to the Mandalorian space, their ship was attacked by the Mandalorian Separatists. When their ship was boarded, a Mandalorian in Black & Gold mandalorian armor with a golden cloak, noticed that there was a slightly pale green-skinned with white hair child locked in a room-wide cage, with a shock collar on her. She was 6 years old at the time. In what Kigo would later view as an amazing twist of fate, he stormed out in a fit of rage, and later returned with the senator in hand. When he asked the senator why this child was in this situation, Vanros merely muttered that it is the slave's place, at which point the Mandalorian warrior slit his throat in front of her. Kigo didn't know what to say, but she was too afraid to even scream. The warrior freed her from the cage, took off her collar and told her to never allow another human to imprison her like that again, in any capacity.
However, just because he felt pity for her did not mean he respected her. She allowed herself to be imprisoned like that for years, even if she is but a child, and had no place among the ranks of his Mandalorians. He believed that the weaklings that follow the current Mandalore might have some use for her, perhaps to tend to their wounded of which there will be many in the future (he thought to himself), and put her on an escape pod headed to Mandalore's central city outskirts. She was spotted shortly after by a scouting party and brought in to the walls of the city.
After learning much of the Mandalorian culture throughout her early childhood and teen years, both physically and through literature, Kigo knew that there was a place for her among the people. But this became a lot harder when she started noticing the strange looks and weird attitude that the common people had towards her, because of her weird appearance. No one knew who she was, where she came from, or what she was doing here. She knew she would have to prove herself, and establish that she belongs with them. Kigo worked hard, and became a young prodigy when it came to physical activity and marksmanship. She would keep the words of her savior close to heart, knowing that for her to truly be a free mandalorian, she had to strive to be the best at what she does, so no opponent could ever compete, so that no enemy could ever triumph over her. She also managed to fall for a seasoned Mandalorian, Cavol "Cav" Skust, who was a sergeant in the Vertigo company, an elite air-attack unit. She knew her goal was to get into that squad.
Kigo trained hard, and her dedication paid off, but it wasn't a happy day. Vertigo company suffered a large loss at the hands of the Mandalorian separatists, who wiped out an entire scouting division. They were desperate for new scouts and long-range support, so recruitment was in full spring. Kigo passed the division try-outs with flying colors, and was taken in under the wing of Ena Dryll, who was an elite scout-sniper of the Ash Angels squad in the Vertigo company. She went under a very straining and difficult six-week training course, where she learned how to be undetected while in the enemy territory, how to gather intel and not give in to the temptation of killing your enemies at first sight unless needed / ordered to.
Kigo ended up meshing really well with her teammates in the Ash Angels, even though they as well were acting strange towards her because of her unusual appears at first, and she managed to finally get noticed by Cavol, falling into his good graces, both romantically and as a soldier. She became one of their most prominent scouts, and knew how to cover her comrades. Her squad knew that if she was in the background covering them, they did not have to fear for any enemy flanks or sniping threats, as Kigo proved herself as one of the best counter-snipers in Vertigo company, with many confirmed enemy sniper kills, as well as trick shots of shooting jetpacking separatists out of the air before they could unleash rocket payloads on her teammates. But she would learn that being too trustworthy can be exploited if the needs are nefarious enough...
Ash Angels were sent in behind enemy lines to destroy an ordnance factory of the separatist Mandalorian forces. But thanks to a traitor in the Mandalorian ranks, the separatists were ready. Kigo and Ena were set up in a jungle-covered hill up above the factory, providing scouting information and cover. They were pretty relaxed, because this was thought to be an easy mission, if everything went right. They came in quiet, there were no patrols outside the factory that spotted them, everything was going well. And then they were the first ones to see hundreds of separatists moving, like a river of armor, towards their teammates. They alerted the rest of the Angels but it was too late, the enemy ranks were upon them, as they saw dozens of separatists jetpack over the Angels like a dark shadow over a dim light. Ena ordered Kigo to open covering fire for their squadmates, and they started taking out separatists as well as they could. But it was not enough. Though they were giving as well as they got, the casualties were about 3:1 of separatists to angels, but there were only twenty of them...fourteen...six...
When the Angels were down to just the CO, his sergeant (Cavol) and one trooper. They had to surrender. Ena ordered Kigo to not do anything to give away their location, no matter what, because thanks to their energy dampeners the enemy only knew that there were snipers, but not where. Kigo complied and discharged her sniper rifle. They could do nothing but observe through their telescopic sights as the exchange of words went on. And then, Kigo would experience something she would have never thought would happen in her life... From the group of separatists, emerged a familiar looking Black and Gold armored Mandalorian, with the same golden cloak. After what looked like an argument, he took out a vibrosword and slashed Cavol across his chest, before moving on to and executing their CO and the other Mandalorian trooper. She got a flashback of the black-armored mandalorian warrior extending his hand to her,to free her, and then snapping back to seeing him cut down Cav. Kigo didn't know what to do with herself, she knew how to accept death, and knew the necessity, but didn't know she would have to see THIS. Seeing a loved one cut down in front of her while she was powerless to do anything, and seeing the end of her squad, from the man that saved her life and freed her from imprisonment all those years ago. She screamed in a fit of rage (with her helmet still on,thankfully,so it wasn't audible enough for the enemies) and started frantically squeezing the trigger of her rifle while aiming at him, the empty rifle responding with audible clicks, and then collapsed on the ground. Ena understood her feelings, he knew how it felt to lose people who trusted you to cover their backs. He embraced her, and told her that they will deal with this later, but for now they had to survive, because the enemy was searching for them. He covered them both with elaborate jungle disguise kits, and they waited until the night to cover their escape.
Before leaving, they made their way down and recovered the tags of their comrades, and Kigo donned Cavol's armor and damaged jetpack, in remembrance of him. Then they made their way to base to report the terrible news.
When hearing of this, Mandalore was horrified, he did not know how such vital information could get out, which cost him one of his most accomplished Vertigo squads. He ordered Ena Dryll to remain at base and serve as a tactical advisor for the next two squads that would be trainer to replace Ash Angels. He revealed to Kigo the name of her adversary in black & gold - Vam Draal, a commander in the mandalorian separatist army. Mandalore also allowed Kigo to keep Cavol's mandalorian armor (Which was not made of true mandalorian steel, because Air Angels favored maneuverability over protection,it was fairly light in comparison) as a mark of her loyalty to the Mandalorians and her fallen squad. She decided to paint it gray (lost love), with blue (reliability) and gold (vengeance) in honor of Cav and the Ash Angels. She vowed to never allow an ambush of this scale to ever happen on her watch.
Mandalore reassigned her to the Talon squad, a special ops group within Vertigo that focused more on quick strikes and breach & clear, more than air assaults and air sweeps. She decided to keep Cavol's disabled jetpack in remembrance of him, dubbing it "Clipped Wings". Her new squad gave her the callsign that would stick with her throughout her life - "Orar Senaar" (Thunder Bird). She is currently the rank of Recruit in her Squad, even though she's not new to Vertigo corps.
