Background

Kalla Nyx was born on Mikkia 34 years ago, during the final years of the Galactic Republic. She was raised in a very ordinary Mikkian family : her parents were from academic backgrounds : her father was an historian, really passionate about the history of various civilizations across the galaxy. Her mother was a more practical individual, working as a cook in a little stall on Mikkia after leaving her job as a xenologist.

Kalla grew up in pure Mikkian tradition, learning to be a warrior and a honorable person first, and choosing her profession second. She dreamt of travelling the galaxy and seeing its wonders : she showed a good amount of skill with a rifle, despite her tiny arms, and a certain sense of instinct when out in the wilderness.

Kalla practiced long and hard to overcome her weaknesses, and got recognized as a true hunter and explorer. Sadly, just after her 'graduation' of sorts, the war broke out, and then the Empire started taking over the Galaxy. Her parents sent their daughter off to the University of Nar Shaddaa, in the care of fellow researcher Nef Cien. The parents then got captured by the Empire, their fate unknown.

Kalla, all alone in that ship travelling outside her homeworld for the first time, met a kindred spirit in Selena Tello, a 16 y.o. human girl travelling to Nar Shadaa for the same purpose. They bonded during the travel, and have kept a real deep friendship since then.

When she arrived on Nar Shadaa, Kalla was welcomed by Ms. Nef Maaril, a young doctor working for Loyood the Hutt, and a friend of her parents. Kalla stayed at the University, learning about beasts. She soon got hired by Loyood as a scout and hunter, and started travelling in neighbouring systems to hunt beasts for trophies. She soon garnered a reputation as an expert talent in her field, sometimes being asked to eliminate sentient targets, but rarely agreeing. She sometimes acted as a long-distance security detail for Loyood.

After several years under the service of Loyood, living in relative confort and on her own terms, she began to think of herself as a bit lost, having forgotten the ways of her people. The memory of what was done to her parents still lingered in her mind, unresolved. When Selena contacted her to join her crew on her new Alliance vessel, Kalla took this opportunity to change everything in her life, and protect the people and the civilizations that her father loved so much.

She thanked Loyood for the safety provided during all these years, took Nef Maaril and her son with her aboard the Lunar Wanderer and enrolled in SFL as a soldier. She's now wanting to put her talents at the disposal of her newfound allies, trying to avenge her parents and fight for the non-humans population in the galaxy, to free them from oppression. She acts as a special reconnaissance operative for SpecForce in SFL.

Motivation

Motivation : Species Rights

The Empire's dismissal of and outright antagonism towards non humans is atrocious in every way, and this PC wants to put an end to it. The Alliance is his best means to see that non-humans gain the voice and the respect they deserve.

Kalla is a native of Mikkia, a planet that believes in the Galactic Republic and doesn't fall easy for Imperial propaganda. The damage done to her family and her people has inspired Kalla in taking up arms to defend the rights of non-humans.

Duties

Duty : Placard Hunter (280)
The PC knows that without effective leadership, the rank and file troops of the Empire are easily dispatched. In any fight, the PC seeks to eliminate the highest-ranking officers on the battlefield. At worst, the remaining enemies fight in a much less coordinated fashion, but sometimes such losses cause the foe to retreat

Hutts are often the target of assination attempts. As security, Kalla always had to make a quick decision, selecting the most dangerous targets first. Now, she tries to combine her affection for the hunt with the elimination of high value targets, to ensure an easy victory for the rebels.

Description

Kalla is a 36 years old Mikkian, standing 1m80. She's very thin, and often looks like her frame couldn't possibly handle firing the rifles she carries around.

Her skin is white, with almost all of of her tendrils of a deep purple. She also sports some white, red and orange ones a very rare and not so stealthy asset for a Mikkian hunter. She has a tattoo on her forehead, one of the crests of her family that symbolizes the night.

Kalla is a very discrete and sweet person by nature. She still believes in her planets traditions on discipline and bravery, but years of working for mobsters and merchants in Hutt Space have forced her to learn the ways of less honorable civilizations. She is still an dreamer at heart, and has transported her ideals of honor and fair combat to her hunting endeavours.

Her favorite thing in the world is eating. A lot. All the time.
