2332: Born near Lake Cataria, Betazed

2342: At the age of 10 Mantem's father died in a spelunking accident, and he went to live with his mother, Hela Trix, who was serving as a medical officer aboard the Enterprise C.

2344: He was visiting family on Betazed when the Battle of Narendra III occurred. His mother, who survived the trip through time, sent him an encoded message about the "truth" of what happened, before she perished with the rest of the Enterprise C crew.

2354: Enters Starfleet to major in Exobiology, following his mother's footsteps into a Medical Officer track.

2360: Graduates Starfleet Officer Program, Medical

2361: Posted to USS Shenandoah

2364: Promoted to Lt Commander JG

2366: Promoted to Lt Commander

2366: Turned down for Transfer to USS Enterprise D (third time)

2366: Commandeers shuttle craft and heads into Klingon Territory

2366: Shuttlecraft is cut off before it can reach the outpost Narendra III

2367: After spending a year under arrest, Trix provides Starfleet with the message his mother sent him in 2344, explaining that she had been through time. Trix was intending to see his mother again in 2366. Rather than being court marshaled, he is placed on administrative duty and sent to Betazed as a Starfleet recruiter, intended to be forgotten.

2374: Still living on Betazed but out of active service (and running a pretty nice "off the books" speakeasy in Lake Cataria), the Dominion invades Betazed and he is captured.

2374: First tasked as with building Sentok Nor by the Cardassians as slave labor, the scientists Dr. Crell Moset takes an interest in him specifically due to his background as a Starfleet exobiologist. Over time Trix earns his captors trust, and build a friendship at the knife's edge.

2374: Trix's wife and "imzadi" (first and closest lover), Nostraya Taazel, is also a captive of Crell Moset and part of his experiments. Trix is informed of her death shortly before the liberation of Betazed.

2374: Moset's experiments leave deep scars on Mantem Trix, and he believes that he can feel the sorrows of the dead. He becomes obsessed with mastering life itself,
vowing to assure that no one else in the Universe will have to suffer a loss as great as his.

2376: After his memoirs become a well read in Betazed and are added to required reading for cadets at the Academy, he is able to successfully petition Starfleet for a return to active service.

2376-2378: Spends 2 years on Earth as an instructor at Starfleet, as well as working with top Federation scientists to understand the true scope of Crell Moset's experiements on Betazoids

2379: Is assigned to the USS Icarus as Chief Medical Officer (Lt Commander) serving under an old friend from the USS Shenandoah

2380: Serves aboard the USS Icaraus

After the experiments that are performed on him during the Dominion War, Trix has a heightened sense of empathy. He also developed his latent telekinesis skills, though it causes great strain for him to use this power for much more than holding steady a scalpel or closing off a severed artery. If he tries to control something larger than the palm of his hand it severely damages his physiology.

As a result of his experience being a lab rat, Mantem Trix is motivated to end all suffering, an indeed hopes to one day find a cure for death itself. This drives him to be the best surgeon he can be, and he uses a combination of his innate Betazoid empathy and telekinetic prowess to loos for ways to keep the "soul" from leaving the body, or perhaps to find a way to return the "soul" to a new vessel.

After the events of the Dominion War and the experiments performed by infamous Cardassian scientist Dr. Crell Moset, Mantem Trix believes he can feel the empathy of the dead. In 2378, while on a speaking engagement at Deep Space 9, Trix witnessed the wormhole opening. At the same moment, he got a feint sense that his dead imzadi, Nostraya Taazel, was on the other side of the wormhole. This motivates him to find an active ship to serve on, which may lead him into the Gamma Quadrant and towards an answer to the mystery that haunts him.

Wears the blue robes afforded to Starfleet medical officers, and has an affinity for suits when out of uniform. His time as tha operator of a speakeasy gave him a keen sense of style, and he always wants to look his best, though his face is often adorned with a a strong sense of stubble.
