A strange voice, “Is this thing on?”
A different voice, “Look, it’s eye’s are lighting up!”

Droid, “ wHAt... hApPeNed… WhAT HaPPenD tO My vOICe!?”
Strange voice,”I’ll Fix that; Do you know your name?”
Droid, “MY Namee.. my naME, fou… FOU.. my namee… is VEX!”

The Medical droid, from Tatooine. Worked there for years patching up the locals from bar frights to ambitious scrappers sporting the latest in Tusken Raider accuracy, he did it all. Although, his self improvement directive demanded that he… Well, improves. He sought to free himself to do just that. A little run in with the Hutts and you end up with a restraining bolt and worse off then what you were. Fortunately, an unlicensed merchant was in town to give him a hand with his plight.

Some time later, fighting alongside some rebels on the other side of the galaxy. The last thing he remembered was laying on the ground in a bunch of parts. Busted speeder bikes, AT-ST Knocked over, middle of the forest. What was he thinking getting on a speeder bike, he was a medical droid for crying out loud.

The strange voice, “That should do it!”
VEX, “What should do it… Oh my voice!? It’s better now, but… different. What has happened?!”
The strange voice, “Well, you were busted up pretty bad. We, I.. had to repair you, rebuild you.”
VEX, “Rebuild!?”

As VEX looked down at his new, newish appendages, he found they were not the same ones he had just a few days ago. Slender arms, more articulate fingers… His legs, they were long!

The strange voice, ”Your old chassi was pretty busted up, there was nothing to replace it with around here, but we found some old security droids laying around. We figured we’d give you an upgrade. Make you more combat proficient as it were.”

VEX, “Thank you, but am I still able to render medical aid?”

Strange voice,” Oh yes! I was able to salvage a lot of the medical appendages and tools from your old chassi and install them on this one.”

With the help of his companions, Vex found himself in an old KX security droid modified for medical aid, a sort of combat medic as it were.

The strange voice, “Do you remember who we are?”

Motivation

Quest of Freedom: VEX's programming accorded him with the inclination to seek out the latest surgery and learning algorithms for the purpose of increasing and expanding its knowledge in medicine. Owing to the nature of this self-improvement directive—and having had no memory wipe in decades—the droid's programming evolved to display a measure of independence. Since the droid was literally rusting away for decades tending to recipients of blaster burns and broken appendages, VEX concluded that the only way it would improve in the medical field would be to purchase its freedom.

Duties

Personnel: More than machines, credits, or information, the people of the Alliance are the most important and vital assets there are, and Vex Knows this. He is devoted to seeing to their safety, well-being, and capacity for success. no one should ever be left behind, the most successful missions might not achieve every goal, but they are successful nonetheless when no one dies.
