-Pieced together from various scrap bits and bobs by a scrapper who had no idea what they'd found until they finished building him.
-Code was completely scrambled, so they just spliced whatever they could find in with it to try and restore him to functionality.
-It worked, leaving the droid running not only the standard HK-series programming, but also protocol droid, medical droid and, most infuriatingly, nanny droid.
