Background

K-17 is a unique droid designed by Imperial Intelligence. The K series was originally designed as a mobile intelligence unit intended to provide long distance computers and tactics support to special operations teams, though it was found that including heuristic processors and special access to the Imperial Intelligence database allowed them to learn faster at the cost of occasionally developing unique 'quirks'. Some developed strange philosophies of peace or anti-Empire sentiment, while others thought that complete annihilation of entire cities was always the only solution to any given problem.

K-17 is one of the more successful droids. "He", if a droid could even be gendered, had no particularly bad quirks. He completed his computer related tasks well, demonstrated capability in learning from his environment, and proved to be extremely loyal to the Empire. The only quirk was that he thought, if given enough time, the best solution to a problem was to design a droid to assist him in solving it - this fascinated his designers. Intelligence decided to okay him for field work and to see how time outside of the lab might affect his development.

They designed him with a basic facial skeletal structure in mind and covered him in synthflesh to make him look passable as human, an effort to see how public perception sees droids if they look more human like.

Motivation

K-17 is designed to improve himself, it is his most basic core truth and he will stop at nothing to continue to do so. This is in the form of increasing his parts, his intelligence, and connecting to more networks to expand his mind.

Duties

Duty -
Intelligence - 5
Counter Intelligence - 5

Obligation -
Obsession - K-17 is obsessed with making improvements and controlling networks. He desires to be connected to everything that he can be so that he can learn everything that he can. All information is valuable. All things can be improved. There is always a better way.

Description

K-17 wears basic black clothing with a hood, gloves, and boots. He has Imperial Officer gear stored away, but prefers a more natural look when out traveling with his companions.

His synthflesh is white, his eyes are blue, and his hair is black. He is perpetually clean shaven (since he doesn't grow hair) and the only thing revealing his droid nature is his strange countenance and digital eyes. Below his neck there are more signs of technology, like streaks of light indicating power cables and ports to plug in datapads.
