Oliver comes from the core worlds where he ran a shop offering his "found goods" until he got enough credits to get off planet to start his journey into the distant unknown. He didn't get too far before he ran afoul of the empire and instead of being put in prison he talked his way into becoming a recruiter and trader for the Empire's reach into the Outer Rim worlds.
