Background

Eliata Hisp was one of many lower-class Neimoidians who had to struggle through his early years. He was always bookish and more interested in computers than living beings. Eventually he wound up working as an analyst for MiliSec Inc., a large, privat military organization.

Hisp turned out to be a rather good analyst, and ended up as the confidant of Gerion Hurt, a human captain on the rise within the company. As Hurt rose through the ranks he dragged Hisp with him, and after three years in the service of MiliSec, Hisp had served on three different vessels, each larger than the previous.

Hurt came to rely on the insight Hisp could provide him with, and trusted him with information far beyond the Neimoidian’s security clearance. This proved to be a bad decision. Hisp felt rather uncomfortable on warships and wanted nothing more than to make a comfortable life for himself. And the credits he was earning as Hurt’s aide were nowhere near what he felt he needed and deserved.

This is why he hesitated only very briefly when a rival company offered him a rather sizable stack of credits for confidential information. Hisp spied for them and gave them all the information he could, including some that were given to him by Hurt.

Unfortunately, this turned out to be a sting operation by the internal security within the company. Both Hisp and Hurt were tried for treason, and sentenced to 16 years in prison. Hurt had a loyal crew, and several of them attempted to free their captain with an armed attack on a convoy taking the pair from the sentencing. The attempt failed, Hurt was shot and wounded and was unable to escape. Hisp, however, was able to use the confusion to get away while the guards fought his former crew mates, stealing one of the getaway vehicles and leaving several of them stranded.

Hisp still had some credits left, and managed to escape the Corporate Sector. He regretted somewhat getting his benefactor, captain Hurt, into this mess. He also regretted leaving some of Hurt's men behind, but only very briefly. Most of his pity he reserved for himself.

Hisp travelled to the Outer Rim, where he hoped his skills would earn him a comfortable living for some of the crime bosses there. He spent most of his credits getting there, and was unfortunately left stranded on a desolite desert planet called Tatooine. Completly out of credits, Hisp heard about a local gangster who had done rather well for himself, and decided to pay him a visit and see if the crafty Hutt would see the value in having a man of Hisp's copious talents as a member of his crew.

Knowing the reputation his people had Hisp wisely decided to claim to be a Duros, as long as there were no actual Duros present. He knew the languages were similar enough, he spoke Duros fluently, and with his blue-green skin he could pass off as a green-ish Duros to most people.

_______________________________

A deep, dark secret:
Hisp betrayed the only man who had ever been nice to him, captain Hurt. Although usually not too bothered by his conscience, occasionally Hisp regrets what he did. But mostly he feels sorry for himself and how his life is not turning out the way he wanted it.

A far less deep and not all that dark a secret is the fact that the Neimoidian Hisp is currently masquerading as a Duros.

3x3:
Friends:
Neelo the Quick is a Rodian smuggler with a huge gambling problem who operates out of Nar Shaddaa. He helped Hisp to get out of the Corporate Sector when he was on the run, despite the fact that the Neimoidian had no papers and very little credits.

Obeto Lom was a friend and a shipmate on Hisp's last assignment for MiliSec. He was the security chief for the ship and an all-round nice guy who befriended the lonely Neimoidian. Hisp heard the story while waiting for his trial that Lom didn't want to take part in a rescue attempt for the captain, but was implicated by the security office. He fled before he was captured and there were stories about him joining a pirate crew on the Outer Rim.

Lioma Deinos is a Neimoidian friend of Hisp's who started working for MiliSec at the same time as Hisp and went through the basic training offered to analysts and bridge crew at the same time. He decided not to renew his contract after the first year. He stayed in touch with Hisp for a while after they separated. The last time they had contact, Deinos had set up a small shop on the smuggler's haven Socorro.

Contacts:
Herion Ash is the human lawyer who worked as Hisp's representative during his trial. While there was never any chance of getting Hisp off the hook, after all, the Neimoidian did get caught red handed, Ash managed to persuade the prosecutor not to seek the death penalty in return for a full confession.

Nerbot is a Toydarian fixer who travelled on the same ship as Hisp out of the Corporate Sector. He gave Hisp valuable information about Hutt Space and the Hutts in general.

Enemies:
Gerion Hurt, a former captain in the private military force of MiliSec Inc. Hisp betrayed him and ruined his life. As far as Hisp knows his former friend is in prison, and will be for more than 15 years more, but his former crew tried to set him free once so there is no telling if he stays imprisoned for long.

Talike Sirt is the supervisor from MiliSec in charge of the sting operation that exposed Hisp and landed him and captain Hurt in deep trouble. For her his escape is a personal affront and she would be willing to go to almost any lengths to see Hisp behind bars again.

Emmon Za is a Weequay bounty hunter who got exiled from Corporate Space a few months before Hisp got caught. He was convicted based on evidence Hisp gave at the Weequay's trial. There was not enough evidence to convict him of illegally pursuing bounties but his conviction for illegal modified weapons and military-grade ship was enough to secure his exile. He blames Hisp for this since he was the one who brought up the additional charges for the equipment in the first place.

Kron'Tash is a Twi'lek slicer who, unwittingly, helped Hisp transfer data to his supposed buyer during the sting operation that landed him in prison. The slicer was charged as an accomplice, but acquitted since it was clear that he had no knowledge of what Hisp had hired him to do. He did, however, lose his wife and children in a messy divorce after the trial and blames Hisp for ruining his life.

Motivation

Ambition: Comfortable life
All Hisp wants is to be comfortable, which requires enough credits to never have to work again. That is a lot of credits.

Duties

Obligations:

Criminal (5)
He was caught selling his employer‘s secrets and sentenced to 16 years in prison, but escaped.

Bounty (5)
His former bosses are concerned that he might still have some secrets worth selling (he doesn't!) and have placed a private bounty on Hisp.

Description

Eliata Hisp is a skinny Neimoidian of average height at 178 cm. His skin is grayish with a blue-green tinge and his eyes red with pupils that split horizontally. Like other Neimoidians he has a narrow, noseless face with a downturned mouth that makes him look rather negative to people who don't know him.

Hisp tends to pretend to be a Duros, especially when there are no other Duros around to see through his little lie, so he does not dress in the traditional Neimoidian robes, but rather in the functional spacer's outfit so many Duros favor; baggy cargo pants and a spacer's jacket.
