H1R0 is an astromech droid with its body shaped as a ball. H1R0's features include a limited range of speech, and the ability to hover (in environments with atmosphere and low gravity) by flapping its appendage coverings. H1R0 is created as a companion droid equipped with an advanced AI. H1R0 became the companion of the late flight leader of the Alliance who lost his life in a battle against the Empire from an enemy that he has spared during a previous encounter. H1R0 is designed to link its system to vehicles, cockpits and weapon stations and is especially skilled with maneuvering X-Wing starfighters which it learned from data accumulated from its previous master. It has even acquired the piloting quirks of its master who values life more than anything else and chooses to disable enemy fighters without killing the pilot during aerial battles. Learning from its previous master's ideology about life, its AI overwrote its program to prioritize life, especially of its allies, over missions assigned to it.
