Background
Vikar'rio Cadri's parents left Ryloth when he was just an infant to live on the Wheel, a massive, neutral space station on the Perlemian Trade Route. He often found himself needing to find new friends as his old ones would leave when their families found new homes. This caused him to become more and more isolated, never growing too close to people he'd meet, just in case they left him.
He began to spend a lot of time around the hangar bays, watching ships come and go, dreaming of other worlds. Eventually as a teenager, he befriended a Duros freighter pilot, Pol Sihrun, who quite literally took Vikar'rio under his wings, teaching him the ins and outs of starpiloting.
Eventually the Twi'lek left the Wheel for good with Captain Sihrun, acting as co-pilot on the rustbucket YT-2000 named "Chachi" after one of Pol's long-lost loves.
They two ran many cargo loads, some legitamate, most smuggled. This allowed Vikar'rio to see much of the galaxy, most of which didn't really speak to him. The stars were his friends, and hyperspace was his retreat. The only lifeform he cared to interact with on non-business terms was his teacher, Captain Pol Sihrun. But even this would not last. A number of years into smuggling, Vikar'rio had begun to notice Pol was slipping, making more and more mistakes with age. But the Twi'lek, much to his chagrin, never said anything, culminating in a deadly attempt to run an imperial blockade over Serenno. The chase ended with the "Chachi" crash landing on the plains below. He was rescued by an old separatist resistance cell, who sent him, now a wanted fugitive of the Empire, down the pipeline to a rebel network who offered him a job.
With nothing to lose he agreed and was sent to a secret rebel training base on Telos IV.
