Kal's parents were merchants during the clone wars, under the pacifist regime of Satine Kryze. They were off world when the Siege of Mandalore occurred. They stayed away, surviving as outer rim traders while raising my character. As my character came of age, he left to learn bounty hunting and to pursue a life of adventure as a true Mandalorian would do, or at least how he thought they should. He took work from a small indipendant bounty hunting group where he found his love of large guns and the fear they can instil in enemies. He and the group he was with did they're best to avoid any Imperial entanglements, but was unavoidable at times. Mainly it was for jobs apprehending people the Empire wanted to brought in. Most were pretty thugs or bigger scum, occasionally it was someone he knew or had worked for before. These were the jobs he hated most. Over time it was jobs like these and the atrocities the Empire committed that drove him towards actively fighting against the Empire. It was small things at first, stealing equipment, roughing up the odd officer at a bar. It progressed to destroying equipment, and killing officers and troopers. Once he heard of the Rebellion he joined up and was assigned to the base on Yavin IV.
