Background
A member of the violent and cryptic Gank race, Malico "Malware" Werryn is a vagabond and an inadvertent career criminal. But believe it or not, he used to be a rather promising scientist and armorer serving a notorious squadron of Gank mercenaries. Even then, Malico possessed an impressive drive to further the field of cybernetics, and had created a prototype brain implant that could accelerate a wide variety of thought processes. When he failed to secure funding to properly test his prototype, he opted to install it into himself, and a tragic error in his calculation led the implant to malfunction. Malico's implant could indeed facilitate higher thinking, but it also bypasses several ethical constraints in doing so. Unfortunately the implant was deemed too risky to remove from his brain, due to the unique design and custom install job. Malico's comrades allowed him to continue working for them out of sympathy, but his behavior quickly became unhinged and irritating. It was around this time he earned the nickname "Malware" for his unwarranted "efficiency tweaks" among many other things. When malfunctioning equipment caused his comrades to fail a job from a big client, they knew exactly where to look. In the end, they couldn't prove it was Malico's experiments due to a lack of evidence, but it was still decided that he was dangerous to keep around. As a result, instead of turning him in or in all likelihood worse, Malico was sent into exile.
Motivation
Over time, Malico grew to embrace the nickname "Malware" and began wearing it like a badge of honor. Despite his misfortune, he and his aspirations truly have not changed. However the circumstances regarding his practices unquestionably have. Generally his experiments are done with good intentions, but he has a nasty habit of poking around where he doesn't belong, and he stopped asking for permission a long time ago. In some situations, his meddling can and has saved time, money, as well as lives. But rather unfortunately, the opposite can be and has been true, and the people that have been wronged tend to remember Malico for a considerably longer time. Someone out there went as far as blackmail, holding key evidence over his head in exchange for miscellaneous favors. When times get tough, Malico often "advertises" his cybernetic side business, in which he sells, repairs, and installs cyberware for his clients... and pressures just about everyone he sees into becoming his clients. This usually earns him enough to get by, but he knows better than to stay in one place for too long. Malico roamed the galaxy this way for quite some time, before coming across a group that could actually tolerate him. Whether that's due to his "eccentric" personality or the sheer skill of his craft remains to be seen.
Obligations
-Criminal 10: Malico's mad scientist nature often leads to him breaking many, many laws. He will often make unsolicited tweaks to mechanical property he does not own, and digs too deeply into networks that are within his immediate reach. He also likes to promote (force) his shady cyberware side-gig onto random passersby, and anyone unfortunate enough to become one of his customers may or may not receive a proper installation. As a result, it's no wonder a lot of people want "Malware" behind bars.
-Obsession 5: Although the pursuit of knowledge is often seen as a noble goal, for Malico, this means constant experimentation. Whether tinkering with systems/machines that already work fine, or hacking computers and droids just to test new methods, Malico will rarely be seen idle.
-Blackmail 5: Some time after his exile, Malico started receiving threats from an unknown entity. This person or group apparently has hard evidence of his transgressions against the Gank mercenary squad he formerly serviced. Malico is honestly unsure if the culprit could be one of his former comrades or a third party with a vendetta, but out of fear that his punishment may not end at mere exile, he regularly complies with their demands.
