Background
Khane's parents were in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet, and he was raised by his Grandfather. Khane showed an early proficiency for machinery and tinkered in his free time, working on machines and ships, dreaming of the stars. His Grandfather told him stories his parents, and of the Great Admiral Thrawn, a Chiss who worked his way through the ranks of the Empire. Khane idolized his parents, and these stories of them and Thrawn. At the age of 12, adulthood in Chiss age, he enrolled with the empire, hoping to use his talent with machines to propel him to the stars like his idols. Along the way, he was captured by a team of imperial scientists, and was subjected to torture and bioengineering tests. He barely managed to escape with his life, and is doing all he can to hide low. The testing has left his body damaged, and his insides are slowly dying.
Motivation
Khane is furious about the horrors the Empire has objected him to, and he would do anything to get back at them.
Khane's body is breaking apart, and he is motivated by his desire to live, believing his only way to survive is to replace his dying body with cybernetics.
